Broward MPO Bicycle & Pedestrian Safety Action Plan

The State of Florida was home to the top 4 metropolitan areas with the highest pedestrian danger index with the Broward-Miami-Dade region ranking 4th overall. To address this, the Browad MPO has initiated the Bicycle and Pedestrian Safety Action Plan (BPSAP) to aid in its efforts to reduce the number of pedestrian/cyclist injuries and fatalities while providing guidance on investments for safer, more connected multimodal facilities. In order to do this, the project team intends to identify areas of concern through data analysis and stakeholder input and strategies will be determined to help create a safer and more comfortable bicycle and pedestrian environment in Broward County.
