Comments for “Downtown Boise Implementation Plan - Areas of Concern”
-
The corner of 12th and Jefferson gets really congested between 7am-8:30am and again at 4:30 to 5:30pm with all the car traffic into and out of the Boise Plaza's 900 car parking garage. There is also an equal number of pedestrians crossing the crosswalk to and from the garage. Cars trying to cross Jefferson have problems now with it being a 2 lane one way street. It may get bad enought that a traffic light may need to be installed.

I understand you are considering converting all of 3rd St. to two way. What are the plusses and minuses of that? I live in the Imperial Plaza, NE corner of 3rd & Idaho, and am on the Board and the Director of Building Management. I'd like to be able to communicate to the residents the contemplated change and the pros & cons.

13th/Front is especially problematic if 13th St. is considered for a full one way to two way conversion.

Request from Concordia Law School for lighting improvements along Broad St. between 4th and 6th.

Ongoing investigation by ACHD, at the request of Esther Simplot Academy, for a pedestrian analysis in the vicinity of 9th/Miller.

ACHD has a project at 12th/Jefferson that will add bulbouts to all four corners, shortening the ped crossing distances on all legs. The likely start date is spring 2013.

Event Traffic Detours are an issue because of the frequent events in the downtown area and the unfamiliarity of drivers with the downtown street network.

Congestion in the PM peakhours is a problem on Front Street. Drivers entering at 6th and other streets back up through traffic traveling from Broadway to 13th.
