This intersection continues to be a problem for cyclists. Bad curb on south side of road forces bike out of pedestrian crossing & into traffic northbound.
-
Provide an easy way for bikes to hop from N. 23rd at State across to signal crosswalk.
-
There is only one crosswalk in the area for pedestrians crossing Fairview and/or 16th. There are also too many vehicle lanes where drivers can go in any direction. This makes it hard for cyclists to keep out of the way. There is also a bike lane that is only useful for cyclists if they go the wrong way around a blind corner.
-
This area is inconvenient for pedestrians.
-
Bike/ped crossing at Grove & 9th safety & convenience.
-
Busses will be parked on Jefferson between 8th & 9th for transit center. Drives pulling busses out into traffic lane arfter letting of passengers will not be able to see bikes in the bike lane coming up behind them.
-
Drivers don't usually see bikers coming from the Basque Block. Maybe a signal like the one at 8th & Fulton would be nice.
-
Ped crossing 9th at Miller to BCT & Simplot Academy; this legally designated pedestrian crossing should be marked. Many patrons at BCT & Simplot Academy park on Miller or in Academy lot to attend events. In general, the existence of crosswalks at all intersections should be enforced!
-
Grove between 6th & Capitol functions today well as a contra needs some signage to "legitimize" this use & enhance Grove as an excellent east/west downtown bike "collector." Continue to develop Grove as a major bike corridor.
-
Bike corral in parking lot landscaping area.
-
Bike park on US Bank Plaza (have to go through parking lot today)
-
Capitol Building needs bike racks.
-
Make 13th a full comfort (bike lane) route all the way from state to shoreline. "Shared lanes" only work in concept.
-
Grove can't be a "high comfort" route if you can't cross 9th Street. This is a terrible spot. Main Street makes much more sense for east/west travel. 3 lanes to work with.
-
Make easy connections to get to pedestrian bridge on Pleasanton.
-
Add "share the road" to bicycle markings on the street.
-
Redesign south side of intersection to eliminate conflict between bikes & northbound left turning vehicles from 8th to Front
