Comments for “2014 Billings Urban Area Long Range Transportation Plan - DRAFT Recommended Projects”

This comment is not specific to one area. I would like to see a transportation option for zipcars or some other car-sharing plan. We should also investigate the possibility of a ride-sharing plan such as Lyft. In a few years, there will likely be other, better options.

Zimmerman Trail
Zimmerman Trail Should be widened to include a bike lane, especially on the east (uphill lane)

Rimrock Road
Rimrock Road is heavily used as a recreational bike route by bicyclists who ride the Molt Road/Buffalo Trail/Grand Avenue Loop. In fact, I venture to guess that there are more bicycle miles traveled on this loop than any other in the area. Rimrock Road needs to include a wide bicycle lane all the way out to 62nd Street West and Grand Avenue needs a bike shoulder beginning at 64th St West and continuing east all the way into town (32nd Street West).

This has always been the path to Nowhere ... and has so much to offer all folks .. other than a "Path Ends" and "PRIVATE PROPERTY" I see people so excited about finding this little advertised walking / bike path ... and then always see their disappointment a half mile later.

Laurel Commuter
Please add bus service from Laurel to Billings 7 days a week; at minimum 5 days per week.

PLEASE put a cross walk in from the parking lot to the YMCA. Flashing lights would be best. Perhaps, there could be a HAWK signal here?
