Please put in the stormwater bioswales! This is way all our street infrastructure improvements should be done.

Very bright streetlights should follow all possible paths THROUGH and around the sides of this park.

I work near the new median boxes on Conn Ave NW and am concerned that concrete or even brick median retaining walls will seem out of place on Capitol Hill. I believe the image in the presentation showing a wrought iron fencing around the median is more fitting for our neighborhood.

I continue to be dismayed that the design team dismisses the idea of a mid-block crossing out of hand. Pedestrian patterns clearly show that a mid-block crossing is and will continue to be used by people regardless of what the "planners" want. The idea should have been included in the transportation survey and should be given serious consideration. The pressure on pedestrian safety at mid-block will only increase with the new buildings on the Hine site -- as a main entrance will be located in the middle of the block directly across from the Metro station. Does anyone seriously believe that people won't be tempted to (and find a way to) cross directly from the Metro station to the building entrance at mid-block?

The interactive fountain is a nice idea.

Whatever is done here, the whole park should be much better lit at night than it currently is.

Agreed with others that the expansion of the library is great, but the huge glass box needless and an eyesore.

We really need a pedestrian path through this park leading to D Street. There is a worn dirt path there now and there will be a worn path through the playground unless you create a deliberate one.

I'd rather have a lawn here than a landscaped area.

This space might be better used as a staging area for food trucks.

A large replica of the Anacostia seems like a large swimming pool for rats to me. And, I suspect it will fall into disrepair quickly. A simple play space would suffice.

I'm not opposed to the idea of enlarging the library, but I wonder if a larger space makes sense give the movement of information to the digital sphere. The area might be better served if construction on the metro plaza was commercial in nature, offering residents retail beyond more restaurant choices and overpriced boutique stores.

Fountains are a bad idea. They will serve as water sources for rats and likely will end up eyesores in a few years.

Finding it hard to believe that DC has the money for something so cool. But if so, it's a lovely idea.

LOVE the idea of expanding the library -- way more important than making a mini capitol hill playspace. HATE the glass box design -- it's ugly and doesn't suit the neighborhood -- but I'd rather have an ugly expanded library than the tiny insufficient library that currently exists. The neighborhood NEEDS the resource that a bigger library would bring!

By all means do the interactive fountain. Make it like the one in Centennial Park in Chicago. People, ESP kids, love it. It just generates joy.

Love the idea of expanding the library underground. The drawings look like it will blend well with the metro canopy as well.

A huge glass box? Really? This design is horrible and completely out of place with the rest of the neighborhood. Its placement also creates an obstacle to pedestrians access the metro (or really any part of the plaza) to anyone approaching from the south on 7th Street or east from the south side of South Carolina.
