Green Valley Road is becoming very close to LOS F during commute hours and school hours.
-
Widen Silva Valley in anticipation of connection with Hwy 50.
-
Widen Green Valley Lane to four lanes. My son was rear ended twice where the road reduces from four to two lanes
-
Add Left turn lane

The Diamond Springs Parkway MUST be built by this county fast if your moving all our Sheriffs dept in the middle of the busiest street in the county, Miss Flat!!!! Fast response to Hwy 49 N/S is critical so they don't always have to travel through traffic on our commercial corridor.

connect from Miss Flat/Gr Valley intersection along east of college over to Cold Springs Rd at sharp Nerwinski corner by Browns road. This has been run in legal notice as 100ft wide, Missouri Flat extension 20plus yrs ago by DOT. Get it done for N/S circulation imp from Garden Valley to hwy 50. And over 6,000 people attending 10 plus schools, College, Indian Creek, Ken Lowry day care, Co Off of Education and all there special needs schools there.
It was drawn across on all the fairground relocation studies by Sedway Cook doing the Missouri Flat Specific Plan late 80s. -
Entering and exiting Loch Way to Green Valley Rd is dangerous. We no longer use it to get to and from our home. We go to Silva Valley traffic light. Green Valley Rd is filling up most of the day now and with kids back in school we can hardly get out of our own subdivision. The highest priority needs to be Green Valley Rd. to give it a turn lane to enter and exit all along its length from Francisco to at lease Deer Valley Rd

Fix potholes and rough roads throughout the county, especially on main roads like Placerville Drive.
Evaluate crosswalks for abundance, location, safety and/or better demarcation.
On windy or fast roads, consider placing anti-texting or cell phone use signs. It is amazing to note the difference in driving capabilities when the driver is distracted.
Thank you for this input opportunity!

Hwy 50 traffic signals as they begin at Mother Lode and end at Prospect (near Safeway and Prospector's Plaza) need to be timed better. If there is signalization at Headington, the back-up to Prospect will be bad. As one turns right on to Missouri Flat from Hwy 50, after waiting at the light to turn right, I never make a green light and it is only takes seconds to get to Prospect. That cannot be good for air quality. I bet 75% of the cars turning right from Missouri Flat Road into the Safeway shopping center do not stop at the red light, they think it is a "Yield" zone.

Increasing traffic volume on Cameron Park Drive is making it difficult during many peak periods throughout the day and week to safely make it onto the road from Hacienda Rd. I have seen several near misses. May be time to put a traffic light at that intersection.
-
At the intersection of Coloma Rd/Hwy 49, the split to either merge on to the freeway going West at the signal is awful. Cars waiting for the light to turn green are stalled about 4 cars deep and those needing to turn left or right on to Hwy 50 cannot move forward. I have seen people drive in the oncoming traffic lane to get to the signal to turn left--that's a hazard.
-
In Cameron Park, I would like to see a traffic light installed at the end of Hacienda Rd where Cameron Park Drive intersects with Hacienda rd. In the not too distant past, the city installed a split-merge just prior to reaching Hacienda Rd which consistently causes drivers to speed up to pass eachother before our street. There has been several accidents as a result and we are forced to "shoot" out of the stop sign to not get t-boned and killed. I believe it will not be too long before a resident compiles all of the necessary data to potentially have cause for legal action against the county. I believe that the split/merge was poorly integrated and lacks a high level of planning all together. Stick a speed counter and number of cars to cross that intersection and you will see the high percentage of speeding that transpires right at that intersection.

Better turn lanes on/off Green Valley Road onto side streets EDH Blvd. up to Deer Valley (deer Valley done at this time). Widen Silva Valley Parkway from Green Valley Road to Harvard (4 lane plus bike lanes). Both of these road ways are very dangerous and congested.
-
We do NOT want 4 Lanes on this stretch; but need safety improvements and space for bicycles.
-
Pedestrian way/sidewalks from this intersection to the nearby neighborhoods is a must. Again, pointed out in the GVRd study, where is the action? The proposed senior facility at the SW corner say they have no requirement to contribute to or provide sidewalks.
-
Terrible visibility/sight distance turning out of Rocky Springs Rd; REALLY dangerous during peak hours and at end of school day late afternoon. This was downplayed in the GVRd traffic study - shamefully - and is disregarded in the Dixon Ranch DEIR. You CANNOT increase traffic on Green Valley and maintain a safe intersection here without improvements to line of sight.
-
Lengthen the dedicated right turn lane on westbound Green Valley Rd to northbound Salmon Falls Rd.
-
Need for re-alignment of Hwy 49 to no longer go through Diamond Springs and Placerville to a "new" route that turns at Missouri Flat and goes from Missouri Flat continuing down Green Valley Road turning at Lotus to Coloma
-
Getting into / out of town center is quite bad.
-
This backs up extensively westbound in the morning and eastbound in the evening commute.
-
Safety is very poor in this stretch. There is no place for cars to pull over to slow down or merge to get in or out of the businesses.
-
Visibility is terrible at this intersection. Some grading work needs to be done to improve visibility to the east.
-
Left turn here is dangerous. Multiple rear-end accidents. We need a left turn pocket.
-
The lanes here are not aligned across the intersection. This causes confusion when driving across the intersection.
Traffic is a mess in the morning and evening.
-
Morning school drop-off creates a backup frequently past Bass Lake Road. The left turn lane needs to be much longer.
