No crosswalks. Street entirely too wide. Sidewalks so narrow two people cannot walk side by side.

This area needs more street trees with appropriately sized tree wells because the current trees are sometimes planted in tiny squares and so the tree roots tend to try to grow up and make the sidewalks uneven.

No kidding, this block on Haven Street is by far one of the WORST in all of west Oakland. the sidewalk is more rubble than it is sidewalk. Between 34th street and Peralta

More street trees here would make it a better pedestrian environment. We need a tree census

We need more street trees in this area. North along hollis one sees how much better a pedestrian environment can be when there are mature trees and adequate sidewalks.

Sidewalks are torn up and this is NOT accessible to anyone with walking or mobility issues. It is honestly not even accessible to regular mobile pedestrians. some of the sidewalks are so jaggad that they have a 15'' vertical clearance. I am not kidding 15'' is correct. Please send someone to look at this injury lawsuit waiting to happen.

This area and along 34th street can use pedestrian improvements. It is a key connection between West Oakland and there is a STARK difference in the areas. As soon as one goes into Emeryville, one can see that the medians are planted and watered, sidewalks maintained, graffiti and garbage cleaned up... SADLY that is not the case going south on Hollis once one reaches the overpass. The city of Oakland does not pay any attention to this area and is a wild wild west. People often deficate on sidewalks, trash piles right on the city border as well as massive amounts of graffiti. It REALLY has an impact on how Oakland Is perceived and that is a drag on any potential investment in the area. It is also depressing for the residents who see this on a daily basis and see it as normal. This amount of garbage and torn up sidewalks and graffiti and broken glass is anything BUT normal.

There should be a crosswalk at Howe St. and Pleasant Valley. This crosswalk as well as the one at Montgomery and Pleasant Valley should have flashing lights to indicate a pedestrian crossing.

Put a bulbout on the SE corner of Claremont and College Ave. Cars often take the ~45 degree right turn at 20-25+ MPH commonly cutting in front of pedestrians. I've many times seen cars nearly miss hitting people.

Need more room for pedestrians to walk on side of the road in most of the hill areas of Oakland. I have to walk on the edge of the road in some areas.

West St (and Market St) need trees! It is sun beaten and unpleasant to walk along here in the middle of the day.

42nd is a thoroughfare to get under the highway, yet there is no stop sign/light on the MLK side, making it difficult to traverse as a pedestrian, biker, or even driver.

this intersection should have stop signs. It is angled in a weird way and is dangerous, especially since there is a park one block away and a school.

Market Street between 40th and Aileen should not be a 30 mile/hr speed zone. It is a 2 lane street for most of that stretch. 30mi/hr is comparable to San Pablo (4 lane) and MLK (up to 6 lanes), two much wider thoroughfares. This is a residential neighborhood and is not being treated as such.

This neighborhood has a lot of potential for walkability, with close proximity to the BayBridge shopping center (including a grocery store) and commercial areas on San Pablo, Adeline, and in Emeryville. A plan for promoting more pedestrian activity, including repairs to nearby sidewalks and mainainence of the Hollis and Peralta overpasses would be very beneficial to this community.

This area has really terrible sidewalks currently with uneven, broken, hazardous pavement.

Area is highly trafficked by pedestrians hauling recyclables to the local recycling center. This area is also very highly trafficked by cars driving from Emeryville into West Oakland and coming off of the highway. Improving sidewalk conditions and adding crosswalks or warning lights would be very beneficial.

It would be so nice to add one of those huge round planter boxes in the middle of this intersection. We have many cars (well..drivers) who come and do cookies / doughnuts in this particular intersection. The big round planter would also be a nice visual addition to our neighborhood...maybe in multiple intersections, but especially this one in front of Orlando's Market. It will help slow down traffic an make it safer for pedestrians.

San Leandro creek runs from the hills to the bay. A greenway along this creek corridor would open pedestrian corridors and connect natural assets to urban communities. Collaborations with institutions like Safe route to school and others can make this a truly unique asset for alternative transportation for Oakland and surrounding hman and natural communities.
