I ride my bike or run the trails of De la at least twice a week.

I surf on the east side as well.
-
I head over to West Cliff a couple times a month for surf, running the dog, jogging, etc...
-
I spend lots of time at businesses on Soquel Ave that I can walk to. Shoppers Corner, Whole Foods, Taqueria Santa Cruz, Lillians, Mid Town Cafe, etc..
-
I work here as well.

I own this house and have lived here 12 years now. Love this neighborhood.

Corridor planning that increases density needs to mitigate negative impacts on adjacent neighborhoods. Adding upper story dwelling units should provide more affordable housing, but should not diminish the quality of the adjacent existing neighborhoods with cut-through traffic.

I do not like the way Soquel Ave. has become a noisy racetrack between Morrissey Blvd. and Parkway. We don't need four lanes on this stretch of road. We would be better served with one lane in each direction, a continuous center turn lane, bus stop turn-outs, and wide bike lanes.

Creating a sort of round-about around the "triangle park" several years ago was a stroke of genius in figuring out a better way to handle five streets coming together. I also like the most recent open landscaping.
-
The intersection of Soquel Ave. and Frederick St. is a problem. Drivers should not have to jog over a lane when driving east on Soquel. It requires a difficult and dangerous maneuver.
-
There are several grocery stores near the Soquel Ave./Morrissey Blvd. intersection.
-
There used to be a Post Office with collection boxes for people to drop off mail on their way out of town via Morrissey Blvd to Hwy 1. This neighborhood need to have a mail collection box again.

This East Morrissey neighborhood lacks continuous or complete sidewalks. This is especially important on Trevethan Ave. close to Soquel Ave. Lack of sidewalks discourages pedestrians.
