This area needs improvements. No pedestrian facilities, so they are often in the bike lane. Bike lane often filled with debris. Very poor lighting at night. High posted speed, narrowish lanes, and poor visibility. Bike lane should be protected here, really.

Bike lane just ends, leaving a cyclist in two lanes of right turning vehicles. Need some type of safe zone for cyclist to wait to cross S Market to Cedars.

There needs to be a better connection from Clear Creek to Westside Rd north of Clear Creek. The current gap in the fence requires cyclists to go briefly against traffic to get to the opening in the fence which is dangerous. Riding on Westside is a much better option than going onto 273 due to less and slower moving traffic.

Would be nice to finish improvements along Old Alturas between Edgewood and Victor.

Lots of big fast moving trucks and minimal shoulders make this a poor bicycle route except for the most experienced riders. Many good cyclists avoid Clear Creek due mainly to the truck issue and the lack of shoulders.

The intersection of 273 and Canyon is terrible for cyclists. If you are riding south on 273 you have to ride with two right turn lanes next to you which puts you in the middle of traffic. If you are going to turn right onto Canyon you still have a second right hand turn lane next to you which again puts you in the middle of traffic.

Either improvements are needed to Old 44 or a new route is needed to provide for safer travel between Palo Cedro and Redding for cyclist and pedestrians since the easiest route, old 44 is narrow with no shoulders and poor sight lines.

Due to narrow lanes and that this is a popular bicycle route bicycles may use the full lanes signs are needed

There should be a connection between the bridge here and the river trail.

The only crosswalk here is a east-west crosswalk on the south side of the intersection. There needs to be facilities on all four sides for pedestrians. Consider the route of people on the north side of Lake Blvd east of Market Street and their route to Raley's or Shopko, for example.

Only the boldest or foolhardiest people on bikes would risk riding Cypress Avenue between Bechelli and Churn Creek Road unless it is on the sidewalk. This needs to be addressed.

Westbound traffic turning north onto Pine is extremely dangerous here. Motorists often do California stops on red (if that) and are so focused on cars they do not look for active transportation users. Few cars stop at beginning of the crosswalk. Needs a bulbout to calm traffic, force a slow turn, and make pedestrian crossing safer.

It is roughly two miles between legal crossings on the railroad here. Neighborhoods on the west side are isolated from the supermarket, library, and city hall on the east side. There are plans to relocate the RR switchyard. Once this happens, it should be a policy to integrate the divided street grids.

299 / Eureka Way has no bicycle facilities and few striped crosswalks. As a result, it acts as a giant wall or moat, isolating the neighborhoods north and south from each other and from downtown.

Stop lights don't detect bicycles well, at least carbon fiber bikes with enough bikes with metal wheels the light will detect if the bikes are in the right place.

Traffic lights at this intersection don't detect bicycles making it hard to legally get through the intersection when going north/south on Cascade or making a left from ShastaDam Blvd onto Cascade

Extend the no parking signs that are on other parts of Park Marina to stop cars from parking in the bike lane in front of the car dealership

Since this is a popular bicycle route and the lanes are narrow this route should be marked with bicycle may use the full lane signs.
