Garden Avenue would be another good bike route connection downtown to South Street. It is very wide and already use for this because cars seem to go slow already.

Could there be a paved trail in this area? To link Cascade Blvd to Redding in a more direct way?

Boulder serves as link for bikeway but it's not in great shape and not signed.....needs some wayfinding, smoother pavement and maybe sharrows or something?

Could be better visibility at the I-5 onramp. Currently a weird angle how the bikeway approaches it. Crosswalk could be more visible. Bikeway could be squared up for better view of cars. Should bicyclists/walkers have a yield sign since drivers are in freeway mode?

Need to improve Oasis Rd shoulder from I-5 to Lake Blvd, both directions. Very rough shoulders need to be repaved. The car lanes are smooth, but too much traffic to use them.

Dogs are allowed without leashes on these BLM trails. I disagree with this policy when they are in urban interface areas and have heavily used.

There is a large number of riders who use Placer Road - 55mph +/- vehicles and narrow shoulders are concerning. Given the high cyclist use of this artery, this should be considered as a higher priority.

The sign announcing the future park has been there for over eight years. Currently this area seems to serve as an off road mudder paradise for 4WD enthusiasts.

Southbound sidewalk has shrubbery encroachment, forcing pedestrians into the street. Wheelchairs have to use the other side of the street.

So many trail users here. How about a public restroom? Put up some festival style outhouses and see how much they are used. Ever try to tell a four year old to hold it?

There is no shoulder or bike lane here of any kind between Market St. and Magnolia Ave. This is a very busy roadway/highway with lots of school traffic.

It would be great to have a walkway in the culvert under the market street road so hikers could continue hiking along Sulphur Creek to and from the Arboretum.

It would be great to make a fish ladder in the tunnel under the railroad to let fish move upstream for spawning: Could be a great hiking draw too.

Can the Sulpher Creek tunnel under the railroad be made more hiking friendly and less vagrant friendly?

The old railroad trail is nice, but needs shade from trees. Please plant some.

Make trail access points for green belt trails.

Great place for a neighborhood park with walking and biking paths. Leave the trees!

Scary to walk or bike over railroad bridge

East Bonnyview has way too much traffic for how narrow it is and how many people live on it. People drive 50 mph on this narrow road which is in poor condition and has many pedestrians but no sidewalk. Please redirect traffic to South Bonnyview

Re: The ACID Canal
If the ACID Canal had been bordered by a paved trail that extended from Turtle Bay to Anderson or beyond, it would now be the most used trail in the north state. Flat, with over a half dozen schools along its course it could have been an urban bike commuting route that most cities can only dream about.
An effort should be made to plan, permit, and create a paved trail along the stretch of the ACID Canal between Park Marina Drive and Parkview Avenue. Lots of people walk it now. it could be made beautiful, and two schools are next to it.
If opening this segment of the Canal as a public trail went well, public support for enlarging the trail would grow and resistance turn into acceptance.

I have been conducting a report and doing some research to find out how dangerous the narrowing of Canby Road just north of Browning Street really is. My traffic counts show a traffic load of 5.2 vehicles per minute, there is 875 linear feet without a sidewalk, with the average human walking speed being 4 feet per second, it would take the average person 3.6 minutes to travel the stretch, with the average traffic load that is approximately 18 cars passing in that short time. At this time there is little pedestrian traffic, but my time spent on Canby Rd shows that pedestrians view this narrowing and loss of sidewalk from up the hill and opt to turn around.
The sidewalk would serve so many purposes, as there is a school, park, and residences that all can easily connect to the residences, services, and shopping just to the south of Browning Street, but the one thing that makes this pressingly important is the Redding Pilgrim House a retirement community. The addition of this sidewalk would give these residences a much shorter, safe, and smooth surface in which to travel to gain access to the many services that are only 3,000 feet away. Currently the residents of this area have to endure a 2.28 mile trip, including some hills, to stay on sidewalks to access the same stores that would only be a 1/2 mile away with the added sidewalk.

This stretch of Old Alturas is scary! It would be great if the sidewalk that ends at Edgewood could be continued to the sidewalk on the other side of the creek. I know the bridge widening is on the calendar, hopefully, it includes a sidewalk. Also, a roundabout the the intersection of Victor and Old Alturas would be so much better than the stop signs.

Please consider placing a traffic barrier to close e bonnyview and radio lane to automobiles. This road is used as a bypass for cars to save time heading south to i5 and heading north to downtown. A barrier will limit traffic to local homeowners. County employees may use highway 273 or east side road. Remove 40 mph signs on the road so the speed limit reverts to a sane 25 for a residential area. Thanks for any consideration for the safety of the most vulnerable road users, children, pedestrians, cyclists, and elderly automobile users that live on a high speed corner.
This will also create a safe route for children to bike or walk to bonnyview school and stellar charter school.Liked 1 time
