This intersection is scary for bikers. I cross this intersection southbound on my way to work. I am on 11th street and then get on the pathway that leads to the greenbelt. This intersection needs to be made safe for bikers. I also cross this street northbound after work. It just isn't very safe for bikers.

  2. November 25 2018

This intersection is dangerous for bikers. Cars traveling south on 11th street are turning right /west onto Front street. Bikers are trying to go straight across Front street on 11th street. I bike this way to work.

There needs to be a nice bike lane on both sides of 11th street as it passes the YMCA. That is a dangerous spot for bikers.

  4. November 25 2018

It is difficult to bike through Boise High School. 10th street through Boise High School is now closed. I understand why, that is their pedestrian campus. Going through 10th street by the Boise High Track is easier now, but needs work. Why not make this a designated bike path? I know that the BHS students need a way to get to the track, but perhaps there could be a compromise to allow both bikers riding on 11th and students walking to the track.

Going through the parking lot at Boise High is too narrow with students present.

The measure of success should be the use of the Bikeway by Families with kids. Speed limits (for motor vehicles) along this stretch of 11th from Myrtle through town should be commensurate with the Bikeway and people on bikes. In other cities where I have lived motor vehicle speed limits were set at 15-18 mph for safe and comfortable travel by people on bicycles. If these speed limits can not be achieved protected bike lanes - similar to Capital Blvd - should be installed until 11th reaches residential Neighborhoods.

The existing intersection of the Pioneer Pathway and Myrtle is dangerous when attempting to travel on 11th. It is good that it is being redesigned. I would like to stress the importance of designing the new approach at Pioneer Pathway and 11th for kids and families with trailers. Crossing beacons should be installed.

  8. November 21 2018

Crosswalk here is very dangerous. Many bikes cross here to get to Camel's Back from the Highlands. Also speed limit on this section of 15th is 30 mph.

  9. November 21 2018

path through Boise High should not include dodging cars parked in lot or gates put up around school

  10. November 20 2018

This portion experiences heavy traffic, particularly near YMCA & Boise High - lots of "to-ing & fro-ing" of cars, pedestrians etc. Not sure how to address that short of a barrier of some sort between vehicles & bikes, although that contradicts the pathway concept. Maybe State St through Franklin can have a barrier or at least dedicated bike lane for that busy portion of 11th Street.

I wish that when they built the connector that they had put a pedestrian with a tunnel under Front and Myrtle. In conjunction with route through the North Junior High field this would have created a corridor nearly all the way to the river.

  12. November 20 2018

need to make a diagonal bike crossing or change the footpath bike entry to get on the green path which is great.

  13. November 20 2018

make a bike rite of way through the high school

  14. November 20 2018

from here to the high school put 4 way stop signs on each intersection.
    bike symbols both ways
(can't expect houses without garages to not park on the street). 11th street already has more cars than bikes because cars can't get through the high school. need a bike rite of way through the high school.

It is difficult to come off the Pioneer trail and continue North. It either involves back tracking or acting as a pedestrian.

  16. November 19 2018

Would love a protected bike box here.

  17. November 19 2018

I bike through the parking lot now but assume there would be a better way to get to the greenbelt.

  18. November 18 2018

It would be great if an access point to River Street & 11th could be created for bike riders coming from the Capitol Blvd direction.

  19. November 17 2018

This intersection is so busy and must really watch out for right hand turns

  20. November 17 2018

    This intersection is very busy.

  21. November 17 2018

Please open up a through place for bikes. The gates on the other side of the building are a serious issues. Open up a through on the 11th street side would help access to downtown for Boise

  22. November 16 2018

Franklin St alongside Boise High School is chaotic and dangerous at the beginning and end of the school day.

  23. November 16 2018

Love this idea but I'd like to see a safe way to connect to 11th from the west side of Harrison, maybe using Ellis or something further north around Irene. As for 11th, I think a true bike path should give bikes right-of-way and full-lane use (that is, the whole road becomes a bike lane). Need to work out safe crossings from Fort to Jefferson and find a way to get through Boise High safely. Students often congregate in that area. If done right, I would use this almost every day for myself and my kids. Thanks for making it a priority.

  24. November 16 2018

Usually a big traffic jam on 11th with vehicles exiting Simplot and Jump around 5pm each day. Also pedestrians and bikes compete with vehicles turning west on 11th street from both directions. With the traffic jam at the intersection of 11th and Front Street it can make for some dangerous interaction between the two. Possible solution (although not fully thought out) is to make North/South streets between Front and River streets two land and one-way streets. For example, one way south towards river on 11th and one-way north towards Front Street on 13th.

Need a good crossing to get from green belt to 11th st. Road very busy at times and hard to get across two lanes of heavy traffic.
