Access here from the Trolley Trail to Elliot PL would give easy access to students at St Patricks school on MacArthur Blvd. This connect would need to be worked out with NPS.

A bridge from the eastern side of the trail over Battery Kimble Creek to the western side is needed.
This would give residents west of the creek access to go down Reservoir rd and get to Fletchers boat house....especially via a bicycle. Walking this area is currently okay by walking as long as you are not handicapped. But it's awful as a bike connection.

I think a connection from the trolley trail to Hutchins would be great.....especailly a way to connect to the Palisades Downtown (Safeway).
Also would be a great connection to the George Washington Mount Vernon Campus for college kids.
They could go CCT--> Foundry Branch Bridge -->Hutchins PL-->MacArthur-->Whitehaven Parkway

This would make for an amazing pool.
(Just kidding. Thought the DDOT people needed a good laugh)

Need better drainage and maintenance along the trail behind the tennis courts, leading across the bridge, and to the other side of Arizona. A paved path would be fine, or just a well graded gravel path.

This area is the logical area to connect bikers to the Capital Crescent trail (and thus Georgetown/Downtown) either by construction of a footbridge over Canal Road (ideal) or improvement with a bike-friendly path + stairs to the existing rocky trail that runs from the CCT to Potomac Avenue. This would also allow access from Palisades Playground to the Canal Towpath as there is already a set of stairs connecting the CCT bridge to the towpath.

This makes no sense. There is a public green space that is available for all to enjoy. There are also two bike paths that follow exactly the same route as what is being proposed. Rather than routing bike traffic through our neighborhood (and increasing associated automobile traffic to the proposed access points), we should be looking for ways to create access to the existing bike trails - the C&O and Capital Crescent Trails. Not considering this option first shows a complete disregard for those who live in the neighborhoods that would be affected by these changes. Please stop this nonsense.

This is a natural place to create an access point to Fletchers and the convergence of the Capital Crescent and C&O Canal. Why not look at this rather than engaging on an expensive and impractical effort to convert the 'trolley trail' to a bike path?

Transforming the green space that is the 'trolley trail' is against the wishes of the majority of the neighborhood. This effort has been led by a small, but persistent group who are trying to get to an answer that the neighborhood does not want, as has been expressed at countless community meetings, despite consistent feedback that there is no support. There are two bike trails that are adjacent to the 'trolley trail.' Why is DDOT not exploring the option of adding more or better access points to those existing trails rather than trying to convert a well-loved green space, which is enjoyed by so many in its current state?

A single bridge connecting this point at the Northwest corner of Palisades Park to the existing Capital Crescent Trail bridge over Canal Road would provide safe bicycling access into Georgetown and Downtown without fundamentally altering the Trolley Trail and requiring the construction of three bridges in currently wooded areas in addition to the restoration of the Foundry Trestle Bridge.

The "fool" comment was unnecessary and not helpful. Commuters park in this neighborhood on a daily basis to take the bus into the city. I've also seen a person riding a bike from the city to their parked van on Q street with Maryland tags. People will look for access points and park. The parking in this neighborhood is already congested.

A paved all weather bicycle trail would be such an enhancement to the community! Imagine children being able to ride their bikes without having to use the busy road, and bike commuters being able to utilize the trail and keep more cars off the road. This is a win win (and dog walkers can still walk their dogs, even the cranky ones)

And making it accessible to bicycles would only enhance its utility!

A connection bridge is the only sensible option here! We walk this area, and look wistfully over Clark, wishing these was a bridge to connect us to the existing trail over in front of Potomac. it makes no sense to make this diversion, which would be unsafe, and tedious. Keep the trail as intended!

our community is fortunate to have many walking trails (ie Battery Kimble is right around - Dog walkers rejoice!). A paved bike trail, with access to Fletchers cover would be of enormous benefit to the community, allowing an easier commute for the not-yet-retired, a safe bicycle space to kids and easier access to community resources!

My small boys love to bike along this path - but unfortunately, it is usually unpassable for them. It would be of great benefit for the children of our community to have an all-weather bike path they could use, and would allow children to access the rec center and explore the area. It would keep them off the dangerous roads and enhance our community!

The only option to get to fletchers cove is crawling through a tunnel - which has unknown wires hanging down. It would be incredible to have a bike path, with safe access, to Fletchers Cove.

This area is perhaps the most critical section where a bike/pedestrian trail is needed. The existing bike trail is on the other side of the canal with no safe access to Reservoir. Both MacArthur and Reservoir are dangerous for cyclists. The local NIMBY opposition to change from the local 1 percenters should be disregarded for the selfishness that it is. This rail right of way is public property, not their private backyard. Failure to build a trail here will certain lead to the death and injury of cyclists on Reservoir and MacArthur including students at the Lab School. This public health toll should be weighed against the narrow self interest of the local Palisades land owners.

There is ample width here for both a cyclist trail and a pedestrian trail.

No need for their to be a separate curly-que connection for bikes from trestle bridge trail to tunnel. Just ride along the trestle bridge trail to 44th street and then back track along the super-wide sidewalk along canal road to the tunnel.

There is a tunnel access to the C& O Canal and Capital Crescent Trails right here. It is not well marked. I have heard from women that they find it scary. Can you get rid of the graffiti and paint the walls bright white and improve the lighting and cut down the brush?

The entire intersection here is made exclusively for vehicle traffic. It is very difficult for a pedestrian from Foxhall Village to cross this intersection to get to the Karate studio on the south west corner of the intersection and the other little retail stores there. If the intersection was a normal 4 way stop with a light, the commercial stuff at the corner of Foxhall Road and MacArthur Blvd with have a lot more foot traffic from local neighbors.
