Comments for “Gilbert Transportation Master Plan”

Are there plans to pave the path along the canal south of the 202? It isn't currently travelled bc the dirt path is extremely bumpy and hard to ride on. Nice if it could be paved and connected to paved trails north of the 202.

I realize this is not technically in Gilbert, but Gilbert and Chandler need to work together to fix Lindsay Road. This should be 4 lanes from the 202 to Riggs. The single north bound lane at Brooks Farm Rd is a traffic nightmare. Why wasn't this widened with the widening for the new housing development right there?

Would like stop lights or temporary stop signs during elemtary school start/stop times (8:05-8:35am and 2:45pm - 3:15pm). Getting across Lindsay very difficult.
-
We need a stop sign or stop light at the Germann and Autumn intersection. Too many accidents due to a long windy stretch of road with limited visibility. Making a left into or out of is nearly impossible on a daily basis and a constant gamble.

Pedestrian crossing to schools in. Area
-
Traffic control and pedestrian crossing
-
Need traffic control and pedestrian crossing- Cars speed way too fast and traffic is way too heavy between Greenfield in Guadalupe and kids in cars are constantly at risk in this area
-
Roads in Val Vista Lakes needs to be resurfaced as pot holes and cracks keep resurfacing.
-
Electric company needs to add a protective barrier to power lines so that bicyclists do not get shocked when on the paths.
-
A three way stop needs to be added for safety of predestrians crossing the street and to slow down traffic cutting through the neighborhood. The blind curve makes it unsafe for pedestrians crossing the street.
-
Do a historic map tour of the area. Merchants have the maps at their locations. People will get to know the town's history and the current businesses down there.
-
This is where the turn issue is and is super dangerous.
-
Left turning lane needs to be expanded to 2 lanes and lengthen. Left turn from Val Vista to germann rd. Many times of day this backs up beyond turning lane.
-
Turning lanes for people turning right, will help ease congestion at some of the lights in gilbert including this one at Germany and power. Alot of intersections have this problem.
-
Unless traffic calming measures are introduced on Frye Rd, someone eventually is going to die here, unfortunately. Reckless people use this drag strip every night to see how fast their cars can go. It’s a ticking time bomb. We need speed humps or some reasonable REAL form of traffic calming measures along Frye now.

Rome street and Williamsfield Road, an entrance to Gilbert Ranch neighborhood and an expanding shopping plaza. Cars turning left in both directions have crashed, also it is getting increasingly difficult to exit the neighborhood. Please consider a traffic light.
-
Traffic gets very congested making it hard to leave the neighborhood, especially when school is in session. A traffic light is needed.
-
Add a stoplight
-
Speedy Pass Thru for cars nowadays. Add speed bumps or stop signs throughout Frye.
-
Please reconsider on-street parking & low speed limits in this area, at least until development catches up.
I avoid shopping at this complex because of the crazy speed zones.
-
Public transportation needed out here to at least downtown Gilbert and Chandler
-
School zone sign needs to be lit up and increased enforcement

Public transportation needed out here to downtown Gilbert and Chandler

Major red light running and speeding, timing needs adjustment and enforcement

The northbound highway entrance is a nightmare.
