Pot holes on this offramp out number OIT students.

Crossing the highway by car northbound makes it easy to enter the lane of oncoming traffic on the Campus Dr Side.

When the city rocks the road (excessively, use snow plows) or it snows the lane markings become completely invisible and the 4 lanes become difficult to distinguish. A cone marking the end of the double yellow would be nice.

Lack of sidewalks on the Sky lakes side means students walk in the gravel or on the road or cut through the sky lakes parking lot via the north entrance where it is difficult for cars to see pedestrians and vice versa.

Residential and landfill traffic on Old Fort Road and the associated Laguna Street connection are such that this alignment should be considered as a Minor Collector. With the PUD zoning north of Foothills Blvd and associated Master Plan connections of the Washburn Way extension and Homedale Road extension northward to Old Fort Road, traffic may likely further increase on Old Fort Road as a back-feed to Ponderosa School and an alternate connection to downtown and OIT/Sky Lakes. Lower Old Fort Road and Laguna Street (from Loma Linda to Main Street) are already quite dangerous for pedestrian traffic due to a complete lack of sidewalks or even safe and walkable roadway shoulders in that alignment. This zone is one that should at least be targeted for pedestrian improvements.

There is a macadam sidewalk that runs on the right side of the street by Applebees and other offices that should be replaced. Surface is crumbling with large retention cracks. Use heavily by pedestrians commuting to the hospital and college.

  6. January 20 2011

There is a paved trail called the KitCarson Trail. It is heavily traveled by people commuting to Oregon Institute of Technology (college), the hospital and many medical offices. The trail has massive retention cracks that are so large you can get you foot stuck in them. It needs repaired or repaved.

  7. January 20 2011

There was plans to place a trail along Lake Ewauna that would go out toward Walmart. The trail was marked and the progress ended. It would be a great trail for pedestrians, bicyclists and bird watching enthusiasts.

There is a paved trail that runs along the canal. I think it is called the OC&E trail. It needs major patch work. Retention cracks were poorly managed into huge speed bumps that now have retention cracks. There needs to be a bike lane lines painted on the road where the trail goes across Washburn Way, Main St., & Shasta Way

Lakeport Dr. was recently resurfaced and the road is much higher without a paved birm. The side of the road is a deep mushy gravel. There are no white painted lines. It needs a designated pedestrian lane for those going to Jeld Wen, Pelican School and Harbor Isle.

  10. January 20 2011

There is alot of bicycle traffic on a narrow road without lateral white painted lines or a birm that is ample for cyclists or pedstrians. This road connects the downtown region to the Running Y. There is an ice skating rink at the Running Y and needs public transportation ie a bus line from town to the rink.
