Chorro valley trail class one. Connects SLO and Morro Bay to Cuesta college. follow Old rr route... connect to RR safety trail at Cal Poly... turn east end of quintana road in Morro Bay into one way for cars westbound and two way for bikes... or widen it to include class one and keep it two way for cars.
Class one connection for bikes and peds here... we need this done NOW! Probably the biggest need in the county. Connects Templeton to Atascadero
Class one path needs to go here somewhere between Stage coach/Classcuesta springs road and El Camino Real into Santa Margarita. this is part of Anza Trail too and could be a great commuter trail.
Take the Bob Jones Path UNDER Los Osos Valley Road here. There is a huge vagrant camp here now... having access to all here would make this area less desirable for vagrants. It is flthy now... human excrement getting into the creek etc. NO plants... the culverts are gigantic... the most westerly one only has water in it during a 100 year flood event... for a day or so. Use it for the path then connect up to LOVR via on and off ramps for bikes. Connecting at grade on LOVR will kill the usability of the bob jones path for parents with young children. especially at this location crossing LOVR so close to the HOT ZONE of the off ramps and on ramps... where drivers are in a speeding mode.
Take the Bob Jones Bike Path UNDER the freeway here. Go look at this bridge... there is a TON of room there for a bike path. It is HUGE!
Create a class one trail here... between Monte Road and Matte Road. This path would parallel the 101 on the Northbound side and connect pismo ultimately to the bob jones trail where the bob jones goes UNDER the 101!
Anza trail should continue to this point... then turn southbound along the east side of the freeway... then turn right (south) along frady... under the 101... then turn right (northbound)... along the southbound bank of the 101... so that you can then slowly climb the bank at an angle to reach the ped/bike path that is there now which connects pismo to the outlet store area.
James way needs to connect around this hill (for peds and bikes only) to the Anza trail.
this is one of the worst places in town to be a pedestrian. It is almost impossible to walk here safely... much less ride a bike. Loomis should connect through to Miossi road... and there should be a class two path as well as a pedestrian alternative here so that you can go north without walking or riding on the freeway.
utilize the giant culvert that goes underneath 101 as a pedestrian and bicycle underpass for the Anza Trail to San Miguel. This underpass would connect San Luis Drive to Cuesta Park for Pedestrians and Cyclists.... and then continue up the grade... possibly utilizing some of the Miossi open space property as part of the trail.
Connect the Bob Jones Trail to the bottom of Dana Street... Traveling under the marsh street bridge at Higuera... and then up to Dana Street.
Finish this section of Bob Jones Trail... such that one can ride from the intersection of Marsh and Higuera... parallel to the 101 all the way down to Avila.
Create a class one bike path across Laguna Lake on pilings... that travels then east around the back (north side) of the hotels along Madonna road and connects with the Madonna Bike Path... allowing the students of Laguna Middle School to safely ride to school if they live downtown or elsewhere in the city. Also a great connector for residents of Laguna Lake area
Create a class one bike path that links the Madonna bike path to Hill St. around the base of San Luis Mountain... parallel to the Freeway. This would allow the entire north part of town to access the Madonna road shopping area by bicycle or walking.
Close these broad street on and off ramps and make a pedestrian and bike bridge over the freeway here. Make broad street a bicycle blvd so that people who live in the Foothill area of SLO can safely use their bike to get to down town
The Madonna bike path unnecessarily goes up a long hill and then right back down again. this hill is too steep for children, and some older riders. It is also too steep for anyone on a cruiser bike or a three speed. Fifty feet to the east of this path is flat Cal Trans Land that has been graded... it completely avoids the hill. It is the landscaped area along the southbound onramp to the 101. it is raised up high away from the traffic so safe for bikes. This is where the bike path should be. Please move the path to the flat land, skip the hill and make the path useable to all ages and abilities. Thanks for allowing these comments!
Please connect this path to Los Osos Valley Road
