NW 78th Ave, a favorite with cyclists, needs a bike lane to CR-241.
-
To fast traffic. Crashes due to dip in road that hides on coming traffic.
-
There are too many crashes here, some very significant. The hill makes visibility difficult, in addition to a fairly high legal speed limit. The addition of a complex across the way has only made things more dangerous as there are fewer breaks in rush hour traffic, and it will likely only get worse.
-
This intersection needs a traffic light. It is nearly impossible to see oncoming traffic, and drivers dangerously double up in the intersection daily. Multiple serious accidents in the past few months.
-
The Fletcher’s Mill exit needs some sort of traffic direction at the four-way intersection when people pull out of the neighborhood. There are too many accidents/fatalities occurring. People treat Newberry Road at that section as a speedway and don’t pay attention. The residence of Fletcher‘s mill are scared to pull out of that neighborhood at any given point in the day..
-
Need a traffic light at this 4-way intersection. There are too many vehicle crashes here.
-
The shoulder is technically wide enough to accommodate bikes, but the county let’s grass and weeds grow over it.
-
This road is in horrible shape. It’s scary on a bicycle.
-
The “sidewalk” or bike path is in horrible shape and unridable, but there is no bike lane.
-
Need traffic light!! So many accidents of speeding drivers

University of Florida- East Campus does not have any on-site dining options. Many UF employees choose to eat lunch at Satchel's. However, there is no quick and convenient route to get there. It is not uncommon for employees to walk across NE 23rd at this spot (where there is no crossing) to get to Satchel's. While no accidents have happened here, there is potential, and a pedestrian crosswalk would be extremely helpful in improving pedestrian safety AND improve the walkability of Gainesville.
-
The University and 13 intersection is an extremely difficult intersection to manage as a cyclist. On the west side of the intersection, parked cars on the side of the road encroach on street space and give cyclists little space.
-
Bike lane abruptly ends at this point, causing cyclists to either take a lane, disrupting traffic or diverge on to an extremely busy sidewalk next to Sorority Row
-
There are hundreds of homes in Fletcher's Mill. There is no traffic light for these residents to turn on to Newberry Road, which has high traffic and fast drivers. There are regular accidents here, most which are very serious. Please evaluate this area and consider installing a traffic light to reduce accidents.

Completely agree. Making 8th a safer pedestrian road should be a major major priority. Walking and biking should be possible all the way to Gainesville Health and Fitness and beyond. I feel scared here. My kid asked me to go to the speed limit in the back seat, so I did, and I was passed at the solar system walk, next to a busy park, pedestrians, school zone. It's INSANE. Nowhere in town needs to be a speed limit above 35 mph. Everyone can just slow down and save lives. It would be a slow, probably hotly disputed, but absolutely overall incredibly positive change if Gainesville decided to put people's lives above getting cars to their destination more quickly.

This has been one of the most dangerous feeling intersections for cyclists since I've been in Gainesville. I've seen motorists drive full speed through the lane next to someone crossing already in the crosswalk. I've seen people swerve around folks in this crosswalk. Make this a pedestrian bridge or tunnel please.
-
Why is there a stop sign before the crosswalk? I get that cyclists shouldn't shoot out into the road blindly, it also makes the crosswalk feel less safe for pedestrians and cyclists.
-
Why does this lovely bike trail dead end into a burger king? And also, you can see there is space to continue it. A dream would be a lane all the way out to Northwood Park.
-
I'm gonna add that a lane on 13th would only be safe it were separated from traffic because people are just completely nuts and do not know the laws about bikes taking the lane in unsafe situations. There should be a separated bike lane to campus from the NW that people can hop on in this area, but I'm not sure I agree with it existing on 13th because of the insanity of traffic. Connecting to the existing 6th street would be ok.

I know this is FDOT territory but there is an ELEMENTARY SCHOOL here and people are going 55 in front of it. SLOW THEM DOWN with a real school zone, flashing lights, and a reminder that we LIVE here and want our children to be safe. Getting home 4 minutes sooner isn't worth the inevitable tragedy that is coming for this little school.
-
Been threatened by motorists for using the road, even when in bike lanes multiple times. More marking of biker rights or perhaps police cyclists to demonstrate proper usage to the public would be helpful.
-
Cars are absolutely unleashed here and it's SO dangerous. Make one lane a bike path all the way to the little park at Bivens , intersection of williston rd
-
This roundabout frequently has near misses due to the pedestrian routes being awkward and visibility being low. Addiionally, I've seen electric scooters parked in the bike off-ramp prior to the roundabout.
-
Drivers speed and use SE 9th St as a way to cut thru to/from Waldo road which makes it feel unsafe for walking and biking. This stretch needs a sidewalk or shared use path that would connect all the way to the Hawthorne trail.
-
Many e-scooters are abandoned along this route in ways that block/limit the use of the sidewalk.
