Maybe Eisenhower could be opened to 24th for SunPass users raising income for any safety precautions that would be needed (like barrier walls)

  2. November 11 2015

Allowing bicycles to ride on sidewalks is a disaster waiting to happen on the 17th street bridge. Hawaii has a very strict law on that and it is enforced! Seniors walking the bridge are often harassed by bike ringing speedsters wanting to speed past you. I am afraid to walk on the bridge!

  3. November 11 2015

I think that better timing of the traffic lights and taking into consideration the increased traffic when doing so.. Past algorithms will be useless with increased traffic count. Less emphasis on pedestrian walkway requests through button pushes at intersections would help as well.

  4. November 11 2015

While it would be nice if more people decided to ride a bike instead of drive a car, a great deal of people coming to this area are not within biking distance. Add to the fact that drivers are erratic, unpredictable, and selfish in Fort Lauderdale, coupled with the severe lack of traffic enforcement, and then encouraging more bicycle traffic seems like a dangerous idea. That being said, improvements to bicycle safety in the area would be welcomed, just not counted on for improving traffic flow.

If the pre-9/11 usage of Eissenhower Blvd and SE 24th St cannot be reopened to the public, then consider offering fast pass access to unoccupied, commercial passenger transport companies, taxis, vans, etc, as well as delivery trucks traveling to and from S Federal Highway and SE 17th St / A1A. This would reduce the number of vehicles on the road, as well as provide a time-based financial incentive for these businesses. Allow them to preregister their vehicles and drivers so they can enter and move through the port quickly.

  6. November 11 2015

The intersection at SE 24th St and US 1 very often backs up traffic to the North, up S Federal Highway. This causes a backup of cars on SE 17th St. that are waiting to turn South towards Southbound US 1 and I-595. Mitigating the source of this congestion and freeing up some Southbound traffic would do a lot ease traffic in the whole area.

  7. November 11 2015

Too many cross street (17th St) turns.
Visitors coming out of Holiday Inn Express try to make left turn at opening that was designed for left turning west bound vehicles on 17th St.

  8. November 11 2015

Better transit access from 17th street hotels and the convention center to other major destinations (downtown, the beach, Galleria Mall, the Airport) would be nice and could help people visit the area without a car

  9. November 11 2015

Northbound Cordova Rd: Many people are turning left from the center lane, an accident waiting to happen.

  10. November 11 2015

Re-opening access through the port from SE 17th Street, along Eisenhower Blvd to SR 84 would take a huge amount of traffic off US1N and SE 17th Street. Prior to 9/11 this was a very popular route. Has this been considered at all?

  11. November 11 2015

The main problem with 17th st is the foul smell too often in the air! There has got to be a way to better contain the stench. Who wants to eat at any restaurant there when you want to be sick from the smell?

  12. November 11 2015

I work on 17th st and spend 5 days a week trying to navigate. The biggest problem with 17th st is that 16th st, 15th st and Mariner drive do not run from US 1 to Eisenhower BLVD. If they did, there would be a way for local traffic to avoid 17th street allowing beach traffic and convention / cruise people to come through 17th street. The only thing that will fix 17th street is additional streets to relieve congestion.

  13. November 10 2015

17th Street Bridge openings need to be reviewed. Too often the bridge is opened for boats that are low enough to fit under the bridge when closed. it disrupts traffic, most especially on weekends, when the bridge goes up.

  14. November 10 2015

SR84 via Eisenhower Blvd needs to be reopened to alleviate the West bound traffic on 17th St that then heads South on US1

  15. November 10 2015

Need traffic calming to slow traffic coming from east to stop sign at SE 12 St & SE 9 Av. Many drivers run this stop sign & there is a blind spot at the intersection for traffic going south on SE 9th Av

  16. November 10 2015

North bound Cordova Rd, exiting the Harbor Shops, needs to have a sign at 17th St, that the right lane MUST turn right. No one sees the arrows on the street.

  17. November 10 2015

Need a left turn signal for south bound Cordova road, turning east on 17th St

  18. November 10 2015

This is a very dangerous intersection, mainly because the two S E 16th Sts do not meet up.

  19. November 10 2015

There should be no addition of bike lanes or any changes that would lessen the vehicular capacity of SE 17 St Causeway

  20. November 10 2015

There should be no addition of bike lanes or any changes that would lessen the vehicular capacity of Cordova Road.

  21. November 09 2015

Somebody else left a comment on the map suggesting a protected bike lane along SE 3rd Ave from Downtown to south of 17th St. I think that's a great idea. SE 3rd Ave or Andrews are probably the best ways to bike from Downtown to SR 84 and a protected bike lane would be incredibly useful for cyclists and show the city's commitment to real transit solutions.

  22. November 09 2015

A protected bicycle lane should be added along SE 3rd Ave extending north to Downtown and south to SE 17th Street.

  23. November 05 2015

Bicycling is uncomfortable. Wider bike lanes or separated bike lanes would be more comfortable.

  24. November 05 2015

    Need wider sidewalks!

  25. November 05 2015

Need better pedestrian crossings and facilities - intersection is wide and confusing for walking
