in 2009, part of my property along 68 was taken to allow construction of 2 left turn lanes onto Laureles Grade for West bound traffic. I am concerned that if there is highway widening project, the highway will be adjacent to my children's bedroom, perhaps 20 feet away. As it stands right now, I can see the highway from my study and kid's bedroom, living room and kitchen. My concerns are purely selfish. As it stands right now, I can hear traffic on 68 every day and I am very concerned about the impact of any possible highway expansion or widening.

Shoulder narrows too much. It's very uncomfortable to bike in narrow shoulders. It's a terrible bicycling condition. It needs to be fixed!

I live @ the Villas (23799 Monterey-Salinas Hwy) and with each improvement/adjustment by Monterey County Board of Supervisors or Caltrans the owners living here and cut off from either entering or leaving the complex. This community was developed in 1975 and told that the County plan was for another freeway from Monterey to Salinas of vice-versa. Well, that went in the toilet when the Board could not get a county plan passed. Here's my situation: I would loved to attend your meeting tonight at the raceway however I am in fear of my life when exiting left to get onto Highway 68 (either leaving my place or leaving the raceway).

I commute from Toro Park to Ryan Ranch every morning from 7 to 7
:30 am. There are a number of cars that get off at the Portola Exit and drive through our residential community inorder to shave some time from their commute. There are times I can not even pull out of my street because of the traffic that is caused. If HWY 68 was not as jammed at the San Benancio and Corral De Tierra lights, may be people would not try to bypass HWY 68 and cause problems and safety concerns for the residents of Toro Park.
