A joint fixed transit line between Wilton Manors and Oakland along Dixie highway would be an excellent idea. Alleviating traffic, shrinking the roads, easier pedestrian and bicyclist access and increased property value.
This could eventually hook up with the planned Fort Lauderdale street car.

This intersection may need a little reconfiguring.
Because of its diagonal crossing, most pedestrians do not follow the painted crosswalk. Instead they walk straight across landing in parking lots or other parts of the road before vehicles come to a complete stop.

Wide road creates dangerous speedway. Perhaps make this one way or add a median with wide saidewalks setback from the street. Needs a cross walk.

The grid covering (fill-in) on the Sunrise lift bridge near A1A doesn't go the entire span of the grid section and is too far into the lane for bikes to use at all times. These grids are EXTREMELY slippery if they are wet or are ridden over with wet bike tires.

The stretch of A1A between Oakland and the start of new construction has bike lanes that are rarely swept clean and contain many sharp objects. In one week I spent over $300 to replace tires, inner tubes, and rims on my road bike. I no longer use the bike lanes here unless a car is coming.

Wilton Manors Police cars have almost hit me while running at this T-section. They were speeding from Shoppes of Wilton Manors to avoid running a red light, turning south onto Wilton drive.

Poor bike lane maintenance on A1A in Pompano Beach - water access covers were not raised to street level when it was repaved. Also, bike lanes are rarely swept and often contain sharp items.

Rough paving and poor road maintenance on A1A in Lauderdale-By-The-Sea. Also, pavers in crosswalks have sunken below street level - very dangerous for road bikes.

Drivers speed through this section of Bayview (Sunrise to Oakland) at any hour of day or night. New paving with wider shoulders confuses motorists because they think that shoulders and bike lanes are the same thing.

A Bike path (no fee) cut through here from south N Birch St to the old north N Birch Rd through Bonnet House (would eliminate many unnecessary contacts with motor vehicles and bikes along A1A to Sunrise or to Hugh Taylor Birch. I ride this daily and with construction and traffic it is a challenging route, currently. The bike path would give a different look to Bonnet House that may encourage more visitor traffic.

NE 6th street, westbound between Federal Highway and NE 3rd Ave. High traffic, single narrow lane with hard edges, no sidewalk. Not possible to bike this stretch.

Flagler drive between Sunrise Blvd and Andrews ave. Narrow lanes leave no room for bikes and cars causing rage incidents.

Fast traffic zipping thru here (from Oakland to Sunrise) in an effort to avoid US1 or A1A combined with one lane roads has led to dangerous encounters for cyclists.

Fast moving traffic on one lane road has led to dangerous situations here more than once, between NE 26th St and Sunrise Blvd.

No crosswalk on the east side of this intersection, crosswalk signals do not cycle thru everytime unless someone pushes the button. No crosswalks further east of intersection inspite of 2 hospitals and a 7/11 in a highly trafficked residential neighborhood.

NSU has terrible bike lanes for being a University. Every road near campus should have an adequate size bike lane and that is not the case. They have a large community of students that live within a 1 mile radius yet it can be very dangerous to cycle to campus.
