I'm not sure what pedestrian facilities are being referenced in this location. There are no pedestrian facilities on SR113 in this area. Gibson overcrossing has sub-par sidewalk on the north side of the bridge.

Gibson Road Overcrossing does not have adequate bike or pedestrian facilities. There is narrow sidewalk in the westbound direction and none in the other direction. The presence of six slip ramps in addition to the two 90 degree off ramps makes crossing hazardous for the significant number of children that use this as their primary route to school. This is a great opportunity for complete street improvements.

Pleasant Grove overcrossing has Class II bike lanes. Blue Oaks overcrossing does not have bike lanes eastbound and is a very challenging and unsafe crossing for bicyclists/peds due to very high speeds. Roseville Bicycle Master Plan identifies potential overcrossing of SR-65 in this location.

Galleria and Pleasant Grove overcrossings have Class II bike lanes, but these are very challenging roads for bicyclists due to speeds and design. Roseville Bicycle Master Plan identifies potential overcrossing of SR-65 in this location.

The Cirby Way overcrossing is high speed and has no bike lanes, narrow shoulder and only one side has sidewalk. City is developing a plan for a nearby Class I undercrossing of I-80 as an alternative (Dry Creek Greenway Trail).

We converted 1-mile of a 4-lane arterial to a complete street (two travel lanes, bike lanes, turn lanes, with pedestrian improvements (Fifth Street between B and L streets). The roadway was restriped to eliminate two travel lanes and add bike lanes. Crosswalks were installed at every intersection. Two RRFB's were installed at the non-signalized intersections to assist in crossing the road. New compliant ADA ramps were installed. Street lights were added at the intersections to improve lighting. Traffic signals were upgraded. Construction was completed in 2014.

Make the existence of the Northside School Class I Bike Path conspicuous to motorists, at access and crossing locations. Provide safe walking and bicycling crossings to access the bike path and to continue travel on foot or by bicycle at the ends of the Path.

Pedestrian (and bicycling) access to El Dorado Transit's bus stops is needed. Motorists exiting US 50 at Cambridge routinely fail to yield to pedestrians. Improve the traffic signal, the ramp and intersection at Cambridge Road to slow motor vehicles, so that they yield to pedestrians accessing the park & ride/bus stop. Add or fix bicycle detection at Cambridge. Refer to the El Dorado Transit maps and schedule and confer with El Dorado Transit to identify transit stops and prioritize needed pedestrian & bicycling access improvements along (or parallel to) Caltrans routes, as well as needed crossing improvements.

Caltrans needs to prioritize and enforce its own policies and guidance to insure that pedestrians and bicyclists have 24-hour, all-weather access comparable to neighboring motor vehicle circulation, either with complete streets, or with parallel routes and good crossings.

Where a Caltrans facility does not provide good pedestrian and bicycling facilities, the map needs to identify parallel routes. In particular note the lack of parallel pedestrian and bicycling routes parallel to US 50 from Folsom to Camino, and note that the Silva Valley Interchange severed a connection between Cameron Park and El Dorado Hills. Safe convenient pedestrian and bicycling crossings of US 50 are also badly needed for this stretch of US 50. As a start refer to the El Dorado County Bicycle Transportation Plan - 2010 Update, and all other local entities' sources for information and planning.
