This short section of S Holcomb Rd does not currently have a sidewalk though it is a major connection point from Columbia Village to E Amity Rd. Currently a sidewalk extends down Eastgate Dr to the Cove East subvision, stops, and then connects again on the other side of Amity. There are several teenage children who walk up and down this road, as well as bikers, runners, and other recreationalists. Also there is a wide, undeveloped shoulder which would seem to be very conducive to completing a sidewalk and is only about 1/4 of a mile.
Bicycle lanes are most often not useable or safe so many pull-over into the bicycle lane and park to pick-up and drop off. The bicycle lane is also used by delivery trucks.
I would love to see sidewalks on both sides of Victory Road between Cloverdale and Five Mile. My children I would love to walk or ride our bikes to the library but are instead forced to drive for our safety.
People love to run and bike on Cloverdale. Not sure why. It is so dangerous. The side walks on S. Cloverdale need to be finished. From Lake Hazel to Overland. Also there needs to be bike paths. And a way for runners and bikers to get over the canal bridges safe. Cars on Cloverdale are going 45 to 40 miles per hour. Runners, bikes and kids are putting their lives at risk trying to cross, run or bike. I know that someday the sw roads will be getting a make over but right now sidewalks need to be finished.
The side walks on Victory Road need to be finished. It is very dangerous for kids to walk to the library from S. Canonero to Five Mile. Victory Road has become a very busy road. I would like for my kids to be able to walk or bike to the library without worry.
Would like to see the side walks finished in our neighborhood. West Peconic Drive and S. Canonero. There is a bus stop now at the bottom of that hill.
Would like to see the side walks finished in our neighborhood. Cloverdale and West Peconic Drive.
I bicycle commute along Victory between Five Mile and Maple Grove. A Bike lane on the North side of Victory would increase my safety.
Having a mid-block pedestrian light could allow bike routes through the city blocks. I occasionally commute to work and would prefer to cut through neighborhood paths then to go on busy streets if it made sense to.
Please continue to keep this path open and available to cyclists as we grow; this is a great short-cut to the shops from the neighborhood.
I second the goat-head comment. As we live in the older part of the neighborhood (Tioga) and are still part of the walking-requirement to school, my son primarily rides his bike, including on this path. I've already replaced 2 tubes (good ones too!) this year alone.
With the new YMCA opening in MAY 2018, it'll be awesome to have sidewalks leading up to the facility from all major thoroughfares. I personally would be most interested coming up from Victory/Cloverdale route.
I live at 11875 W. Tioga St. and have 5 children, 2 of which are below the age of 3. The only way for my family and I to get to the Victory Library is to go on Victory with out sidewalks or bike lanes. It is very dangerous, especially when you are coming down the hill going west with traffic on victory to turn north on to Canenero Way. I don't know that we need 3-5 lanes on victory, but at a minimum, sidewalks to bike (walk too) back and forth to the library would be awesome.
Currently very little shoulder to ride a bike on or walk/jog.
A wider shoulder and/or bike line leading up to and across the railroad bridge on Gowen between Exchange St. and Eisenman Rd.
A wider shoulder along Gowen with a designated bike lane through the Pleasant Valley intersection.
The bike lane from Victory to Overland is very narrow. It would be nice to see it widened.
It would be nice to have a bike path on Mitchell, it would take bike traffic off the busier arterials.
I commute the Victory corridor between Five Mile and Maple Grove. I generally go through the neighborhoods to avoid Victory, as there is no shoulder at all. East of Maple Grove, Victory has a "sort-of" bike lane, which is ok, but not great.
Overland Rd. east of Five Mile is possibly the most bike unfriendly stretch of road in all of Boise.
Please look for ways to allow neighborhood children access to the west and south side of the new city park so they can walk to Maple Grove elementary without having to walk on Maple Grove or Victory.
I think Boise should consider making all canal banks pedestrian and bike routes, similar to the greenbelt. It would be an innovative way to improve the quality of life in Boise and would do more to improve our biking and walking safety than traditional bike lanes.
A wider shoulder or walking path from Kelso to the Five Mile intersection would allow easier/safer access to businesses.
My kids have to walk to school but there are no sidewalks along Five Mile to protect them. Would love to see more especially with all the growth and traffic that is developing out this way.
From Highway 21 / S Technology Way intersection to Micron there is no sidewalk. Would like to walk to work but challenging due to high traffic w/o sidewalk no security for pedestrian at all
From Highway 21/ S federal way intersection to Micron there is not a sidewalk on the both sides of the S federal way. Many folks live in Columbia village would like walk up to work but can't do as there is no side walk
