The traffic flow makes no sense here, and it makes it diffucult to navigate with a bike -- cars coming and going in all directions with no dedicated space for a bike.

This intersection is dangerous for cars, pedestrians, and bikes. The City needs to completely redesign the traffic flow here.

There are only a few crosswalks in this area that are actually used. Some sides of the street have no crosswalk at all, and islands will have a walk to them, but none to get off. People just make their own path at corners as if you were to actually use crosswalks to get into downtown, you will have to zig zag the streets several times to stay on a walking path.

What you are looking at is a terrible intersection for cars. It's also terrible for pedestrians. A woman was hit here and seriously injured several years ago. Traffic engineers with more experience than I have need to examine this. But, I believe better traffic control (lights and signs) will be a big help for cars, bikes and pedestrians coming from all directions. This is especially important if we want our new residents on lower Washington to walk into the heart of downtown.

Crossing Central Square is extremely dangerous when cars whip around from Union Street (where DD is located). Furthermore, I'm tired of the excuse that that because it's also Route 129, the state will not allow crosswalks at non-intersections in Central Square. I've seen them on other state roads. We need to step up and get a crosswalk from about where Raw Art Works is located, 37 Central Square, to the other side. All crosswalks in Central Square need to be brighter, as well. Another issue we have is bicyclists on the sidewalks endangering pedestrians. A bike lane will help, but we need to educate.

It is very dangerous and difficult to walk, jog or bike in Lynn. Lynn has high car insurance rates for a reason. I am not a fan of bike lanes, I believe that gives people a false sense of safety and the streets of Lynn are too narrow to add a bike lane or remove necessary parking spaces. Some streets are being fixed, there are a lot of potholes that make it dangerous to drivers and people biking. The rental bikes have been a success, it shows people want to use bikes. I see a lot of children who don't wear helmets and bikes don't follow the rules of the road, which is a whole other issue. I think the Community Path will make a huge difference to the people of Lynn. Thanks!
