Retain and repair the bridge here so it can be used again!

The Palisades Trolley trail is not natural!
And in any case the ROW is quite large - if you don't want to walk on a paved trail almost certainly there will be plenty of space to continue to trudge along in the mud. Of course no one in their right mind would do that but it would be great if this public space could be used by everyone - walkers, roller bladers, the elderly, people pushing strollers, skateboarders and yes bicyclists.

We are at Palisades Park every weekend for baseball and soccer games - it would be great to have a way to get there that didn't involve driving and where we could bike on a protected right of way.
The current trail is impassible after any sort of rain which we get a lot of around here.
It would be great if we could send our kids to the park on their own and now they have a safe way to get there that doesn't require them to cross busy road ways - they could walk, bike, roller blade, skate board (there is a well used skate park here) and as parents we wouldn't need to worry about their safety as they would be in a safe space that they could use year around.
Please add a multi-use trail here that everyone can use in all weather.

Bikes are quiet!

There is nothing natural whatsover about this trail - it is a man made piece of engineering - long ago graded and cleared of trees for a trolley line. Updating the trail so it can be used again is a great idea that will benefit many people, including those who live along the trail.

The views of the Potomac along this stretch are fantastic - DDOT should really organize a tour on a nice spring day so people can 1)see how fantastic this space is and 2)how inaccessible it is and 3)how it follows from that almost no one is using this potentially fantastic public resource!

It is critical that a bridge be built here - so long as the bridge only has to bear the weight of pedestrians and cyclists it should not be that expensive. Also not that there is currently no bike infra in this area.

Please note that there is no practical or safe way to get from either the CCT or the C & O Towpath in this area - creating a multi-use trail along the length of the old trolley right of way would in fact create connectivity that doesn't currently exist and enable cyclists and walkers to also go east from here to get to Dupont Circle and the West End which also can't be reached from the current trail.

The trolley trail is very difficult to use when there has been any rain - the trail should be in good enough condition to be used year around by everyone!

Please add a climbing lane on Arizona Avenue to enable us to get from the trail.

Maybe consider this an alternate connection to CCT:
I've dismissed this in the past but maybe going from Trolley trail down Arizona AVE is too tough.
Maybe there should be some type of Palisades Rec Center connection via bike that could connect to the CCT bridge over Canal RD....maybe with another small bridge.
Some residents has mentioned this in the past and maybe its worth taking a look atLiked 3 times -
I wish we could have a jogging path around the resevoir, like NYC has in central park. It'd activate the space, making it safer for everyone.

This is the stretch where panhandlers etc. accost women walking on their own - this occurs during the day and night. Having a broad, well-used and well-lit trail that avoids this lonely and unpleasant narrow sidewalk would be VERY good!

The trail is already a multi-use path currently enjoyed by casual bikers, walkers of ALL ages in all seasons.

It's important to note that most of the standing water here is only on top of the crushed gravel surface that the city is trying to use. Otherwise, the path ebbs and flows with the rain or lack thereof. Boots work perfect in this situation.

This would be a great spot for an access spot. Would connect bikes going North to Palisades Park, and avoid that Stretch of Macarthur that is dangerous for kids to ride, St. Patricks, GDS

this area is often too muddy to access. Also there is often bamboo and other things of that nature impeding access, it needs to be maintained.

For someone not familiar with the PTT in this area, more and clear detail of the proposed trail is clearly needed. Also, the left panel cannot be moved out of the way, and the instruction box continues to be in the way of the map on both Chrome and Firefox. DDOT needs to have another company design this map for comments, as it's poorly implemented.

Terrain here is very steep. Creating a trail will be a challenge. It needs to be 6’ wide to let bikes pass each other.

Paving this trail would be a huge win. I'd take my kids out on it a lot. Would help people commute and take cars off the road too. A win for everyone!

I live right on the trail and see people walking on the trail everyday all year round. I think that the trail should be left in its natural state. I am for fixing the drainage, but if that requires making some sort of solid trail surface instead of grass, I suggest leaving our little piece of paradise.

My boys play baseball & soccer here. It would be great to have a way to get here without driving, separated from traffic!
