  1. January 29 2012

Need traffic light @ either Avalon & Kay or Avalon & Orchard. Impossible to get across if both had no light for those living behind Paul's etc., especially with building going on Orchard/Avalon.

  2. December 27 2011

Getting across the tracks is one of the main hazards for peds and bicyclists. I understand building a bridge over the tracks and the creek is very expensive. Neither bridge over the creek is safe for peds and bikes now. Is a pedestrian bridge an option?

  3. December 27 2011

Essentially, this is a 5-legged intersection and is very confusing and unsafe for cars - it is especially unsafe for peds and bikes. No continuous sidewalk or bike path/lane. Please fix intersection for all users.

  4. December 23 2011

The intersection at Linder/3rd/1st is very confusing and dangerous coming and going in all directions. One option would be to close off W 1st street completely and make the only intersection at 3rd and Linder.

  5. December 19 2011

Completing the sidewalk from approx. Shady Grove to Linder would be very beneficial to residents.

  6. December 19 2011

A sidewalk along Avalon from Orchard to Linder is needed very badly. It is dangerous to walk in spots.

  7. December 19 2011

A pedestrian crossing at Kay and Avalon is desperately needed before someone gets killed.

  8. December 19 2011

3rd st and Linder is the worst intersection in town. A roundabout has been suggested and I think that would be a much better alternative.

  9. December 19 2011

I think the idea to extend Avalon and cross the creek and tracks with it is brilliant.

  10. December 18 2011

Cyclists travelling north on linder intending to enter downtown on 3rd street typically ride the shoulder of Linder. Motorists on Linder travelling south waiting at the stop sign will pull out thinking the bicycle will continue north on Linder. Or vehicles travelinf north on Linder overtaking the cyclists at the intersection may strike the bike as it turns left in front of the vehicle. Taking the road by riding in the center of the lane invites road rage.

  11. December 18 2011

The old style bike lanes are better than nothing, but the problem of a bicycle striking a suddenly opened car door and falling into traffic is a concern.

  12. December 18 2011

The intersection of Avalon, Bridge, and Shortline is dangerous to bicycle traffic. Envision a bicycle traveling east on Avalon enroute to downtown. If the bicyclist rides on the right shoulder, traffic on Shortline waiting at the stop sign often pull out into the path of the cycle because they think the cyclist plans to ride straight ahead onto Shortline. Similarly, other vehicle traffic traveling east on Avalon who intend to travel straight onto Shortline and overtake the cyclist at the intersection may strike the cyclist as he turns left to continue onto Bridge.

This danger is exacerbated because the intersection is the only direct bike route for residents southwest of Kuna to enter downtown.

If the cyclist “takes the road” and rides the center of the lane, vehicles sometimes don’t understand why and the cyclist may encounter road rage.

  13. December 17 2011

I think it is important to consider a sidewalk on Linder Rd between Art Ct and Porter. There are a lot of pedestrians walking this stretch of the road. I believe this is one of the few places along Linder between Hubbard Rd and 4th St downtown that does not have a sidewalk.

  14. December 12 2011

Complete the sidewalk around the ball diamond, in front of lds church and down to orchard at ACHD expense. Very dangerous for people trying to walk in this area. Do not require property owners to pay for this. We pay for it in our taxes and you need to reimburse any property owner who already put in sidewalk. (1 at this time.)
Sidewalk also needs to be done somehow around curve at park perhaps in front of Auto body shop and car wash to connect with existing sidewalks so that someone could walk uptown on sidewalks to access the business'.

  15. December 12 2011

A round-a-bout at Swan Falls and Avalon would create greater traffic efficiency. Avalon needs a biker-friendly lane.

  16. December 12 2011

Rather than a traffic light, this intersection needs a pedestrian crossing light warning.

  17. December 12 2011

A round-about is a possible solution to solving foot, biker and vehicular traffic at this intersection.

  18. December 11 2011

Figure out how it can be safer for those going Southbound on this road. Also, improve pedestrian quality.

  19. December 08 2011

Trying to ride a bicycle to the gym or to Paul's is just too dangerous - inadequate shoulders to ride on, almost impossible to cross to north side. What a waste of fuel to have to drive.

  20. December 06 2011

Would love to see a bike path from Crimson Point Subdivision into Kuna. It could connect to the bike path that already exists and would allow for safe bike travel and exercise for families.

  21. December 05 2011

I would like to see better sidewalks from the Pauls area to the Greenbelt. It is very dangerous for bikers. I also agree with the comments that future lights may be needed at Orchard/Avalon and Kay/Avalon. Trying to cross can be very dangerous.

  22. December 03 2011

Sidewalks are badly needed on the west side of Linder, and also on both sides of the road on Avalon St, particularily around the curve where Swan Falls meets Avalon/Linder.

  23. December 03 2011

Remove ALL the goofy curves and redesign with appropriate 4 and 3 way stops. Extend and connect Meridian over the RR tracks and river with a bridge. Extend greenbelt to the east at least to Kay, the further the better. Create a safe crossing at Kay and E. Avalon.

  24. December 02 2011

We live in the Crimson Point subdivision, and I try to ride my bike to town whenever possible. It would be great if there was a two-way bike only path along Indian Creek to downtown Kuna.

  25. December 01 2011

I agree that a 2 way non-motorized bicycle path would be beneficial to gain access into the downtown area. I would also use this access route for exercise. The Crimson Point subdivision (NW Kuna) has a bridge across Indian Creek that could link up with a bicycle path into downtown Kuna. Downtown development will increase as pedestrians find multiple uses for such a path.
