Sidewalk too narrow, slanted, and broken.
The sidewalks on West, from MLK to 52nd along the park) are unsafe due to darkness (poor lighting, tree cover) and the ever present homeless encampment. Please lighten this area and do not allow the homeless encampment to discourage pedestrian and bike traffic from passing this park.
The sidewalks on West, between 52nd and 40th are often narrow, and even broken, including between 51st and 52nd (big tree--one on each side of West) and at the corner of 44th (large grass plants blocking the sidewalk). To encourage walking, the sidewalks must be wide enough to walk on.
Adeline is very wide and encourages speeding. There is a stop sign at 34th and a signal at 32nd, but then cars hit the gas, because the next traffic control device is down at West Grand. Adeline should be narrowed, and there should be much safer pedestrian crossing options.
The underpass here is not a comfortable place to walk, especially at night.
This is another intersection that would ideally become a four-way stop sign. I've witnessed several near misses when pedestrians don't realize that only cars traveling north and south stop. Cars sometimes travel very fast along 32nd, especially if they just sped up to catch a green traffic light at Peralta & Hollis. This causes conflict, especially with slower-moving street users like those pushing shopping carts.
This is a strange intersection to traverse as a pedestrian. Better crossings would increase comfort and safety for the pedestrians headed to the bus stops here.
The intersection of Peralta and Union is very wide -- easily 2 acres of asphalt. That area plus this vacant lot are where the tree-lined Peralta and Union corridors give way to a feeling of being in a tractor-trailer-oriented industrial wasteland. Adding a pedestrian refuge and planting both the refuge and maybe also this lot with the large (California walnut?) trees found on Peralta and Union would increase the continuity and maintain a comfortable pedestrian feel.
The level of loitering and drug activity here makes walking along San Pablo and into these neighborhoods feel unsafe.
Could there be a pedestrian pathway opened up on Louise, Helen, or Hannah? More permeability would increase pedestrian access to Target, Trader Joe's (for the long-distance walkers), and other shopping needs.

This intersection is a two-way stop sign, but it should be a four-way stop. It is near several multi-family residential buildings. People generally drive cautiously, but sometimes cars come flying through in the non-stopping direction. A bicyclist was nearly struck in July 2015.
There is no ramp on one side of this intersection, making one need to cross the street with a stroller without a crosswalk or stop sign for cars.
Fix side walks, clean garbage, add pleasant amenities like bench and plants, stop loud, violent loitering, encourage businesses to repair their windows and clean graffiti. Add a crosswalk at 3 7th and Telegraph.
Cars speed around curves on Golden Gate. several cars have been hit over the years. Not safe for kids.
Cars often speed through stop sign at this intersection.
Lack of sidewalks on Hermosa make it unsafe for kids walking to school.
convert to 4-way stop
Cars often speed through stop sign at this intersection.
this intersection has very poor pedestrian visibility because of the jog in 21st street. Maybe some daylighting/red curbs could help
this is a huge intersection with a confusing traffic pattern. We need to build out the curbs, install some traffic islands with landscaping, and really define where cars should and should not be turning. Very dangerous for pedestrians, with a giant asphalt area and cars coming from all directions
this intersection could use some corner bulb-outs to reduce crossing distances and slow vehicle turns
this is a dismal intersection to cross as a pedstrian, is there a possibility of eliminating some lanes of traffic here in order to reconfigure this space to allow for more space for pedestrians/bike and less for vehicles. 14th/15th is a MAJOR barrier to the Lake if you're coming from East Oakland
this location could use a midblock crosswalk
nastt pedestrian "plaza" is begging for some landscaping
Streets in this neighborhood are a confusing mix of two-way and 4-way stops, cause a circumstance where you might think the intersection is a 4-way stop, but cars are allowed to go speeding through. Can we convert these 2-way stops to all-way stops?
