    narrow shoulder with sharp drop-off; no ability to "bail-out" onto the grass.

    This intersection, with the service drives being very close to the main road, the commercial entrances being very close to the service drives, and the very small curb return radii, make it a pretty terrible intersection to navigate. Pedestrians and bikes now also try to cross LRT(236) on the west side of Hummer where no crosswalk exists. Very congested and safety is a concern.

    This entrance to the shopping center is particularly dangerous. Many vehicle accidents occur here. EB LRT vehicles rush to make the left turn into the shopping center with limited visibility of oncoming traffic cresting the hill at high speed. WB LRT vehicles often travel straight through the intersection in right turn only lane. This would be an issue primarily for WB cyclists.

    This is a dangerous intersection. Have ridden my bike southbound through the crosswalk many times. I only cross when the pedestrian signal indicates that it's ok to do so. EB vehicles on LRT turning right onto Olley lane do not stop even when I'm in the crosswalk with the right of way. If I did not pay attention to anticipate the drivers who do not stop I would have been hit several times by now.

    A gravel trail was created here between 236 and the Cross County Trail as an afterthought at the time of 495 Express Lanes construction. It is unmarked, lacks any signage, and is eroding badly. All parties - VDOT, Park Authority, and Dominion, so far deny responsibility. This project should take charge and bring this important connection up to standard.

    Bicyclists would be able to travel from RT 236 to the Dunn Loring Metro if the striped shoulders, and climbing lanes were added to Prosperity Avenue as noted in the Bicycle Master Plan.

    Page 31 of a regional VDOT study http://www.virginiadot.org/NOVA_Regional_Bikeway_and_Trail_Network_Study_Final.pdf noted a decrease in the level of service rating for Prosperity Avenue. The report also discussed needed bicycle access to the Mosaic District.

    Improved Prosperity Avenue bicycle facilities would provide yet another access point to the 41 mile Cross County Trail.

    It would be great to have a way to get across Indian Run. Right now the only way is Cherokee Avenue, which is NOT very bike friendly. This would open a route from Edsall Road to LRT. Right now, none of the streets (other than Cherokee) go all the way through, which makes it hard to come up with a good bike commuting route through these neighborhoods.

    There is a nice bike lane along Chambliss that goes from Lincolnia to the paths at Holmes Run. It would be great to continue this bike access south and west, into Fairfax County and then south of LRT and into Annandale. Instead, it now just ends at the county line.

    The bridge on Backlick over the railroad tracks would be a perfect place for a bike path, or at least a shoulder. Right now, there is nothing, not even a sidewalk. Furthermore, the sight lines are poor here.

    I bike commute from my house in Springfield to my job at the Mark Center (Beauregard and Seminary) in west Alexandria. Getting from Edsall Road to the bike lanes on Chambliss is very difficult. There needs to be ways of cutting through neighborhoods, and this would be a great place for a path to connect the neighborhoods on the east and west sides of Turkeycock Run.

    Same thing for Indian Run. There is only one road across this (Cherokee Avenue) and it is NOT bike friendly (but I ride it every day nonetheless).

    If you're trying to make your way west, the service roads are viable until here, and then they just end, and there's no shoulder, no way to cross the street, and no way to loop around. I was with my kids and we just turned around rather than risk it.

    A path connecting Bevery, Calvert, or Auburn St with Bradford Ct would all more Annandale HS students who live east of Ravensworth to walk or bike to school.

    Annandale HS is a disaster waiting to happen. Most of the streets around it don't have sidewalks, and all walking students have to cross the long lines of traffic in front of the entrance, after walking in ditches and dodging turning cars

    The bridge over the railroad tracks is a real bottle neck. It has no shoulders nor sidewalks. Anyone trying to walk or bike here takes their life in their hands.

    Backlick Rd connects this area with the shopping centers in Springfield along with the recently introduced bike lanes along Amherst Ave. However Backlick Rd itself has either narrow or no sidewalks forcing rides to tangle with 50mph car traffic. Perhaps there could be a marked bike route following nearby quiet side streets like Kingston, Exeter, and Montgomery, with short connecting paths between them and signs like they have in Arlington

    Riding up from Lake Accotink on the trail, we were thinking we would follow Little River Turnpike home. Bad idea. Tangling with cars at 50mph is not my idea of a good bike ride. We turned around and went back the way we came. The trail also has some sections where the signs aren't very clear.

    My 2cents you have to be crazy to ride on most of 236. I'd prefer to see the existing bike path widened on the south side (at least between Pickett and Guinea).

    This seems to be a little known path for bikes. I cross 236 here at Olley and jump on this path to enter the shopping center. Much safer crossing than Pickett/236 intersection or riding along 236.

    Someone has been doing a decent job of mowing this section, but it could use more. Poison ivy overtakes this portion of the bike path. I cleared it once, and paid a serious price.

    This section of Prosperity is particularly hazardous to bikers because there is no shoulder and limited visibility at the top of the hill. Drivers can't see what is in the road just on the other side of the summit.

    Little River Turnpike is especially dangerous for bikers in this area. With the high school and major shopping in this area, car traffic would be reduced considerably if this area were more bike-friendly. Better bike access would make it much easier for local residents to access these places without using a car.

    Setting up bike lanes to connect Dunn Loring/Mosaic with the Little River Turnpike Corridor via Prosperity would make these areas more accessible via bike.

    Getting across the beltway here is a )(&*%ing nightmare. At the very least we need marked bike lanes. Ideally we would have a separate bridge/right of way.

    The Little River Turnpike Corridor should have better connections to the County Connector Trail on the western parts.
    The shoulders on Prosperity Avenue are quite dangerous and basically nonexistent in many places. The county right-of-way is 50 feet wide, while the road surface is only 25 feet wide. The shoulders could be paved just enough to support bike lanes without taking any property from the adjacent landowners.
