Keep trail surface natural - e.g. crushed rock -- and fix drainage along path. This will eliminate mud and increase trail accessibility. Drainage is a serious issue for homes downhill of the path, too. No lights or paving -- keep natural feel. Increase access to CCT for bicycles.

Sharrows are unsafe. Prospect is plenty wide enough for a dedicated and protected bike lane to connect to Wisconsin and Georgetown.

Needs to be a direct connection from the west side of the trail to Georgetown University

A bridge is critical here to maintain continuity and connectivity to Georgetown and other pertinent destinations.

Parking is not a right. Trails and public streets are exactly that - part of the public right of way. Residents don't own the street in front of their house. Please build this trail!

It's critical to build this trail. Nearby trails such as the Capital Crescent don't have access points to any of the amenities in this area, and they don't connect with Georgetown or Georgetown University. This can be done while preserving natural and green space for all.

Great opportunity to create a multi-use trail that can be used by all residents, not just those few who happen to live in this neighborhood. Nothing wrong or offensive about families and children accessing a nice trail.

Safe bike access points and connectivity are important for travel, commuting, decreasing congestion, and the environment. Please build a multi-use trail for all.

Definitely build a connector to Hutchins to improve connectivity for walkers and bikers.

A great opportunity to build a multi-use trail for bikers and walkers. Families and children biking and walking along the trail will blend in nicely with area houses.

Please build dedicated and protected bike infrastructure along Prospect to Wisconsin Ave - that would make for a great connected network.

Please be sure there is a safe and usable connection to the Georgetown University campus and hospital

There is a root-bound, dirt trail here from the Capital Crescent Trail to Norton Street and Potomac Avenue. This path needs to be upgraded either to smooth limestone quality or to asphalt. It is one of the few access points to the Capital Crescent, and in its current form it is dangerous and difficult.

I think here at the Parking lot, the whole parking lot needs to be rethought.
I personally think the Parking should be moved a little north towards Sherrier. This would allow for the trail to be continuous rather than the way this currently is by being broken upLiked 4 times -
There are several Paper alleys in this area, so maybe the trail could go to Dorsett too.
This area should be investigated for all the paper alleys in this area and determine if these would be good access for cyclists rather than Galena.Liked 3 times -
Since no one wants cyclist to zip out onto Galena, please find a solution that slows down the bicyclist here....maybe a tree.....something that will slow them down here.

This section of the trail (Trail & Chain Bridge RD) is the worst section of the trail. Consistently muddy/swampy.
Also, the non-native bamboo branches always fall on the trail. The Bamboo is on DC property and should be removed. Please remove it and work with local residents to create native plantings that create a buffer.
Also, there should be a stop sign here for cyclists and maybe need to create a way where cyclists do not zip through this intersection. Maybe plant a tree in the middle and force cyclists to slow down.Liked 7 times -
A bridge over this creek from the trail at grade to Reservoir is needed (Doesn't have to be over Reservoir RD)
The Cabin John 20 line use to have a bridge over this creek. From my research I do not know if this will require NPS permisison... I assume it would.Liked 5 times -
There will need to be a bridge here from the Hoya Saxa bridge foundation to Prospect so the trail does not route through the campus.
When the streetcar went through here, the bridge that use to be here was call Bridge #1 of the Cabin John Route 20 line.Liked 5 times -
Over here in Georgetown, all that is needed is Sharrows. No parking needs to be remove. Outside of the scope of this project but an interesting fact is, going east, Prospect on one side of the street does not have parking mostly from here all the way to Wisconsin Ave.
Therefore, putting sharrows all along Prospect would make for a great connection via bicycle all the way to Wisconsin Ave. There are no bikelanes in this area and this would be the closest to one.Liked 2 times -
I feel that DDOT should develop a policy of access between the neighborhoods and the trail.
If a neigborhood wants to have a conneciton to the trail, they must allow people from the trail to connect to the neighborhood.
This is the policy of CA for access to their public beaches.
Montgomery County on the CCT seems to let neighborhoods block the public out and I think that's wrong. Something to consider.
On this point, the Westhall neighborhood would be a good access point to get to Ridgeview Way.Liked 5 times -
I just want to add that while I support a bridge here and there should be some public access to GDS, unfortunately Laverock PL is a private road....so there would be no potential neighborhood access from the trolley trail.
Therefore I recommend that if you end up building this trail, the neighborhood should not get access to the trail unless they open up their access.Liked 2 times -
A bridge from Potomac Ave area to the eastern side where Laverock neighborhood is, is vital.
This area connection is currently bad for both pedestrians and bicyclists. Clark going down to Canal RD really isn't great for pedestrians.
A bridge here would help students of GDS (and whatever school will be there next )get to the eastern side....and of course continue on to Foxhall RD and Georgetown University & the CCT and the C&O (via the Canal RD tunnel)Liked 6 times
