Increased parking demand by trail users should be a non-concern. All of the streets near the trail are zoned residential parking, and already well enforced. To further mitigate any potential issue parking near the trail could be reclassified to remove the 2-hour non-resident exemption.

There is absolutely NO WAY that this crossing at Clark Place is safe! There aren't any sidewalks on this stretch and it's already dangerous as is for kids from Georgetown Day School walk up this street to head outside during class with teachers. Children from the neighborhood ride their bikes up and down this neighborhood. The worst part is that a child was already hit by a car in this nieghborhood over the summer. And currently, vehicles race up and down this stretch of Clark to avoid traffic backups illegally already. To place the trail here because residents of Potomac Ave oppose a pedestrian footbridge is unthinkable. It would put children's safety at risk. If anything, speed bumps need to be installed on this stretch of Clark Place - not a trail to encourage MORE walking along an already dangerous street.

I am not for connecting this path to Georgetown at all. It's one of the few places left in DC to enjoy the green space without worrying about a biker nearly running you over. But if it's to be built, the feasibility and real fact is that a pedestrian bridge at this point is the only thing that can make this stretch of the trail safe. Having the trail go down Clark Place would make this area COMPLETELY unsafe for walker, bikers, children who play in this neighborhood and for vehicles accessing Canal Road. The safest choice is to build a bridge.

We need to preserve this section for walking with children and pets in nature while not have to worry about bikes zooming past. It is now one of the few areas left where it is easy to walk, open to the sky and has a feeling of being in nature.

Echoing other comments, access to Fletcher's Cove from the trail would be spectacular. While I am comfortable climbing through a tunnel to get to Fletcher's, I am not willing to take my kids through that same creek tunnel.

I abut the trolley trail at Sherier Place, and I am excited at the prospect of DC making the trolley trail usable in all weather conditions. At Sherier Place, it is unusable for a couple of days every time it rains since the drainage is so poor.

If the trail just shoots out onto Galena it would be very dangerous for trail users. Children in particular often lack situational awareness and would be inclined to bike out into the street unaware of oncoming traffic. We get a lot of cut-through commuters who drive very fast on our neighborhood streets.
The traffic engineers probably know best, but I could see the trail ending by merging into either an extra-wide sidewalk or a protected bike lane for one block of Galena. The turn would have to be gradual. Once trail traffic gets going parallel to Galena they probably don't need additional protection.

Curb cuts, and a raised crosswalk at Galena would enhance safety. Signage indicating an upcoming street crossing should be considered at all such points regardless of how the trail is updated

Crossing Arizona here is currently horrible. During rush hour Arizona has heavy commuter traffic, and it's multiple lanes and the only traffic control is a crosswalk.
With a ramp on both sides pedestrians and cyclists could go up one side, over the bridge and down the other.
People living along Sherier worry about bicycle traffic on the trail behind their homes. A double ramp here would probably be more appealing to cyclists than taking the trail through the rec center parking lot.

Fill in this short stretch of missing sidewalk on Sherier Pl. and, with a new bridge with 2 ramps, we'll have paved access for less money via sidewalks. This would make the issue less contentious, too.

Getting to Prospect Street will be important, especially if the gondola is something that happens.

Please don't leave a gap in the trail here just to appease the neighbors.

If we ever covered this reservoir to turn it into park space (as has been done elsewhere) the trail would become the ideal way to access it.

A Trail here would be separated from homes by the street, and would enhance the greenspace that is currently underutilized. Only a fool would believe that someone would park here to use the trail.

Trail should connect to Westhall and Laverock here.

A trail north of here, along the edge of GU and the Park and up to Reservoir Road seems like a great addition

Putting a bridge here would be a complete waste of money. It would be unduly expensive and an eyesore, in addition to creating traffic headaches while it would be built. Use the millions of dollars on schools instead.

The trail would run too close to neighboring properties and take away important green space that dozens of neighborhood kids play in. It would also effectively turn this section of Potomac Ave into a parking lot for people trying to access the trail at the closest point to Georgetown. The influx of cars, as well as cyclists, would be unsafe given the large number of young children in the area.

Re-utilize the existing bridge! This was done farther out on the trail near Glen Echo, MD., and it has become a centerpiece to that part of the trail.

A pedestrian bridge will need to be built across Clark Place NW to connect both sections of existing trail.
Rerouting users along Q St and Clark Pl would not only ruin the "flow" of the trail, it would also be outright unsafe. Clark Place is a steep, narrow street, with a blind corner at one end and, a connection to Canal. It would be impossible properly isolate pedestrian / cyclist traffic. Connecting to the southern end of the trail at Clark Pl would also be problematic due to the grade.
The trail should follow the existing right-of-way and cross Clark Pl with a bridge.

Please extend the sidewalk as far down AZ as possible, and begin serious engagement with NPS toward CCT access.

Please build a ramp on this side of any new bridge
