PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE extend the walking trail from Hunt Highway up to the Gilbert Regional Park. I'd do it in 2 phases. Phase 1...Keep it simple so that people can walk it. Phase 2...Do the fancy stuff you want to do. But get the connections right away. This should be a cheap improvement right away...even if not paved every where.

The only benefit of extending the Hunt Highway from Val Vista to 164th is that it benefits the Casino. I see absolutely NO benefit to Gilbert residents. Let the Gila Bend Indian Reservation do any road improvements on their land. Riggs Road is just fine.

This intersection has existing double left turn lanes. Perhaps signal timing needs to be improved during weekday afternoons/evenings and from 10am to 6pm on weekends.

  4. March 03 2022

Creating a "new road" to extend Hunt Highway from Val Vista to Higley is unnecessary and will have a negative impact to the environment. Also, the road will only service the north side of Hunt since there is no population to the south nor are there any plans for growth there.

A bus route up and down Higley connecting to the Mesa light rail would be a major improvement for those moving into the dense housing market being built at this time. Would also help us avoid all of the drunken casino traffic that’s coming our way.

It seems like not all grade separations with the railroad are included in this plan. There was a train/vehicle collision here.

Vaughn Avenue: Existing Terminus Near UPRR to Neely Street

Vaughn Avenue multimodal improvements should include Neely St between Houston Ave and UPRR

  8. February 24 2022

A direct multi-use path or separated bike lane connection should be included from the Gilbert/Warner intersection to the Heritage District, north of Gilbert/Elliot.

  9. February 24 2022

    TMP_201

All grade separation projects should be identified with more detail

  10. February 24 2022

Is the railroad identified as a multi-use path/trail improvement? Seems highly unlikely to ever come to fruition.

Gilbert Road Corridor Study: Baseline Road to Ray Road

Gilbert Rd between Elliot and Warner is oversized and needs to be right-sized with a lane configuration and reduced median width. The speed limit of 25 MPH on Gilbert Rd, south of Elliot seems inappropriate for the existing roadway cross section.

  12. February 24 2022

Greenfield should have an access management study to determine full and partial access points and a landscaped raised median installed in areas between Baseline and Warner.

  13. February 24 2022

Greenfield Road should be continued as three lanes southbound and continue several hundred feet past the Baseline Rd Intersection before the lane reduction. The improvements to accomplish this would be on the south leg, in Gilbert jurisdiction.

  14. February 21 2022

A continuous paved path (10'+) should be installed along the whole Sun Circle Trail/Western Powerline Trail. It is frustrating when the trail is broken up with paved and unpaved portions. Cycling is safer along trails like these since there is less interface with vehicular traffic. During the summer months, night time riding is preferable, but the lack of lighting is an obstacle to this. Please add lighting throughout as well.

Val Vista Drive Construction: Riggs Road to Hunt Highway

San tan blvd is a private road and should remain that way. The only reason Val vista would need to be widened is if you open new routes to increase through traffic in our area, like the silly idea to extend hunt highway. Roadway is fine as is

  16. February 20 2022

Hunt Highway Widening: Val Vista Drive to 164th Street

Extending hunt highway over the canal will create additional traffic issues and add thru traffic when Riggs rd is more than adequate for the area. Stop building on every piece of open space and the area will be fine

  17. February 20 2022

A continuous paved 10’+ paved path should be provided with lighting all the way from Power Road to Downtown Gilbert.

  18. February 20 2022

For bicycles in this area sharp right angle turns do not work very well, especially when riding at night and seeing the turn in time presents challenges. Lighting along all of these paths would help increase safety. Turns with a decent radius (at least 15 feet) would also help. Wider paved paths (10 feet minimum) would facilitate two way traffic.

  19. February 20 2022

San Tan Blvd here is a private road and should not be open to the public.

  20. February 20 2022

This is a gated neighborhood and this road can not go thru here.

  21. February 20 2022

Please extend Hunt from Val Vista to Higley asap. This would cut so much traffic off riggs and other side streets

  22. February 19 2022

    Elliott Road

We need a safe crossing for bicycles and pedestrians to get to the Bashas and shopping plaza from across Elliot.

  23. February 19 2022

This is the one break point in the trail that doesn’t allow you to safely cross Greenfield Rd. We loved the biking experience and all the pedestrians but noticed they too had the same issue. We were forced to ride our bikes up to Guadalupe with small children against the major rode. A crosswalk could make the path a perfect corridor to downtown Gilbert.

  24. February 17 2022

Is Olney Ave public ROW? It appears to be, and it really isn't used, it appears to be the back of large lots from the Eastern Canal all the way to Recker Rd. Why not figure out a way to utilize this corridor for the Western Powerline Trail, which is very piecemeal and not especially usable from the Eastern Canal to Recker. If the Town has legal access to this corridor can they use it to build a real 10'+ multi use path? The existing trail is difficult to traverse in these areas or doesn't exist at all really.

All pedestrians, bicyclists and equestrians can use the crosswalks at the nearby Gilbert and Warner Rd intersection.
