Luxe 13 is a private road and the landowner is unlikely to dedicate it to a bike boulevard or encourage through traffic. A better idea would be to pave this paper street as a cut through, which is owned by the City of Gainesville.

  2. May 30 2025

A rail trail from High Springs to Newberry would be valuable recreation opportunities for residents. However, this area is full of wildlife, away from the hectic nature of cities and people like it this way. Environmental-friendly development is a must. Bright street lights, or heavy construction would ruin the charm of the area.

I think this is the old railroad tracks (the straight line does not follow it directly, this comment refers to the light blue line south of 441). This is a good candidate for rail-to-trail, allowing biking access from downtown High Springs to downtown Alachua. This would need to be separate from the road, protected bike lanes at a minimum. Nobody will use it otherwise because the high speeds on 441 deter any pedestrians or bicyclists.

There is a lightly developed - wide enough for ATVs - trail here. Local residents use it to avoid the high speeds on 27. It is a large wildlife corridor to allow animals (deer, turkey, bunnies, armadillos, etc) access to the river. Paving it or extreme development would diminish its value to wildlife. It may be a good candidate for Wild Spaces, Public Places. There is also a neighborhood at the end of it that is a dead end and does not access the river. If this becomes part of the trail system, clean signage indicating that its a dead end with no river access is needed.

Connect Savannah Station/ Fletcher Trace Area on CR235 to Peggy Rd / Legacy Park Recreation Area

  6. May 29 2025

Pedestrian/ bicycle only flyover or tunnel would help connect residential areas to west of I75 and Sante Fe College

  7. May 29 2025

Until roadway network is built out in this area, a multi-use trail/ bike path would be a good way to connect NW 39th Ave and Newberry Rd

  8. May 29 2025

Connect NW 31st Ln to NW 23rd Ave (preferably sooner than waiting on development in area). This would help with middle school access

  9. May 26 2025

This stretch in Hawthorne hasn't been repaired or touched in decades. Please don't forget east Alachua County in your plans.

  10. May 26 2025

Is there a reason this portion of 234 isn't included as well? 234 is, BY FAR, one of the least maintained roads in the entire county.

  11. May 26 2025

Could 234 be repaved ONCE in the 6 times y'all have repaved 39th Ave?! It's a disaster and you all have been made aware of it on several occasions.

  12. May 25 2025

The cyclist lanes on this road are directly adjacent to high speed roads. The danger present here is high and disincentives cyclists. This is dis-advantageous as it connects high density student housing in the south to the University which unlike SW Archer, which serves a similar function, does not have a separated bike trail. Either a protected bike lane in either direction or a completely separated trail would be necessary along a road with such high speed traffic.

  13. May 25 2025

Bike lanes could/should be moves to the other side of the street parking, cyclists and drivers interact in a very dangerous manner. As people attempt to parallel park cyclists are often forced to either move onto the sidewalk to the detriment of pedestrians or onto the street at the detriment of their own health. By moving bike lanes in-between street parking and sidewalk you alleviate this issue and increase saftey.

  14. May 25 2025

There is not a single bike lane on this whole stretch of road. This is simply atrocious as 13th is possibly one of the most used roads in the whole city connecting the most dense areas of the city. Protected bike lanes are a MUST, even if it means reducing a lane like which occurred on NW 8th Ave. I know this is difficult as it is a state highway but this is such a dangerous area for cyclists some protection must be put in place. Additionally a protected bike lane would act as a further buffer for pedestrians who are in dire need of increased safety along this high speed road

  15. May 24 2025

235A North of 441 from I75 overpass to CR 236 section is so dangerous. All patching is uneven and makes more dangerous and washes away again. Hasn’t been replaced in over 50 years! Please help! School busses, many residents, and even semi trucks travel this road every single day!

  16. May 24 2025

Millhopper Road bike lanes need help. Pavement is broken, very heavy traffic on road not designed for it. Bike lane encroachment by bush and grass.

  17. May 24 2025

Intersection of GHT and Williston Road is extremely dangerous. The lighting system does not work, changes to flashing red. Needs to clearly stop traffic until cyclist/ped has chance to cross the entire road.

  18. May 24 2025

Understand 234 is being milled and resurfaced half way to Rochelle. This road is not rideable now because of patches and holes. It is a priority route for cyclists to get to Micanopy and south without 441. Please vfix the whole road

  19. May 24 2025

234 is used almost weekly for two group rides called the “Hipp” ride intended as a fast/race pace group ride. Unfortunately, nearly on a weekly basis someone has a flat tire on this road due to the fantastically disfigured road surface on many sections of the road. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE repave! It would be greatly appreciated by many cyclists from Gainesville and around!

  20. May 23 2025

A bike lane, or path along 98th would be fantastic as there is no existing bike lane that is safe to ride, and the sidewalk is VERY uneven.

  21. May 23 2025

A bike path connecting Millhopper and 39th would be fantastic as a way to safely and conveniently get between the to roads.

  22. May 23 2025

A bike path or improved bike lane would be most appreciated and useful in connecting the Trenton-Cross City paved rail trail to Newberry, which is accessible from Gainesville via small country roads.

  23. May 23 2025

Consider adding sidewalk railings to these three blocks. Pedestrians often cross mid-block and stand on the lane dividers. It's a highly congested area, and they don't realize they're almost invisible to drivers after dark.

  24. May 23 2025

The pedestrian crossing lights here are not currently visible to cars driving westbound.

  25. May 23 2025

For the new bike lane on the Eastbound side of NE 8TH Ave....

Where the bike lane ends and the right turn lane begins is directly in front of 424 NW 8TH Ave. The building at this address is located approximately 6 feet from the curb. This is far too close for bikes and cars to be crossing paths. This is an occupied building.

Prior to the new traffic pattern, cars would merge sooner, therefore travel parallel to the building. With the new pattern, they change lanes directly in front of and toward the building at a high rate of speed.

The lane change lines should be painted another 20 or 30 feet east down 8th Ave, that way it's in front of a grass field if anything should happen, avoiding risk to innocent bystanders.
