Add bike path along Chena Ridge. I've run into some dangerously hostile drivers coming from Rosie Creek down the hill to Chena Pump and have nearly been run off the road (while riding on the white line with no oncoming traffic) more than once.
-
Add bike/foot path along eastbound to connect Parks Hwy bike path to Sheep Creek for access to UAF. Would be esp nice in winter when it's icy and the road narrows.
-
Bus stop for eastbound traffic is in a section that doesn't have sidewalks. There's no safe way for people to get to this location - either add sidewalks or shift stop one block east or west to a location that does have sidewalks.
-
Intersection of Tanana Loop and Yukon very dangerous for traffic and ped.
-
Lots of skiers cross the road here. Very dangerous, maybe add ped light?
-
Crossing somewhere along Farmers loop, or add sidewalk to east side to North Tanana.
-
Consider improvements to North Tanana (paving, sidewalks) to relieve traffic on Yukon.
-
Need ped crossing at N. Tanana Loop
-
Intersection is not ped friendly. Needs more crossings and lighting.
-
Sidewalk on the north side of Geist an absolute must.
-
Are there plans to divert Truck traffic from Peger? Similarly, that would also make senses to divert truck traffic from Johansen between Steese Hwy and Parks Hwy.
-
As Fairbanks grows, is it necessary that the Alaska Rail Road Depot remain in the area that is becoming the core of the City? I can see the need for passenger trains continuing to use the train station but freight trains should be moved out of the city core.
-
I suggest a limited FNSB bus service on Sundays. This may require the Borough to investigate the best times people need bus service on Sundays
-
This is a blind curve for motorists who are typically traveling at high speed.
-
A practical solution to cross the rail road in needed at this illegal pedestrian crossing.
-
A pedestrian crossing is needed at this intersection. Improving the crossing and a plan to add a sidewalk on the other side of Farmer Loop may prevent pedestrians from crossing the road illegally in the area of Army Road and Iniakuk Ave
-
There are a number of residents who live in this area of Iniakuk Ave and Army Rd that need to cross Farmers Loop Rd to get to the sidewalk on the other side of the road on the UAF side. The pedestrian are crossing 5 lanes of road with with vehicle typically traveling at more than 50 mph.
-
There is no good pedestrian crossing at this intersection of Farmers Loop and Ballaine Rd.especially to cross Farmer's Loop Rd east to west.
-
This area needs a safe crossing of W. Tanana Dr. The Fairbanks community and students who live in the Sheep Creek area cross the road while vehicles are traveling at high speed of more than 35 mph.
-
A sidewalk is much needed on the north side of Geist. The existing sidewalk ends on Fairbanks St.
-
Add a trail from the south side of the rail road to intersection of Geist and Parks Hwy.
-
This intersection is not friendly and safe for pedestrian. This is especially so on the westbound side of the road. There is no identifiable sidewalk. The intersection is also used by pedestrian who are going to UAF who use the trail through the farm.
-
Sidewalk on south side of College ends at Alaska Way and doesn't start up again until (I think Aurora). Without designated pedestrian crossings, it's difficult to safely cross the road here to get to the sidewalk (esp in winter), and I've often seen people walking on the berm or even in the road.
-
In the three miles of College Road btw University & the Johannsen, there are I believe two stoplights - and those are the only designated crosswalks. Traffic tends to go 10 miles over the speed limit, which makes getting across the street (after getting of the bus, for example) either a long detour to a safe crossing or more likely a dangerous crossing on foot. More designated crosswalks, perhaps with on-demand lights to control traffic, would be helpful.

what became of the very expensive and comprehensive corridor study completed by Kittleson several years ago that addressed issues along Airport Way?? That was a well done document that contained many really good ideas concerning Airport Way and transforming it into a boulevard with slower traffic and landscapping instead of chain link fencing
