It would be great if this section of the greenbelt could be paved. It is too rough to ride my roadbike over.

  2. June 17 2019

Separate bike/walking trail from the west side of Eagle (Palmer, Linder) along State would be nice. There is no continuous sidewalk and cars traveling at 55 make it too dangerous. Floating Feather is the same. Some safe access from west Eagle to downtown Eagle would be appreciated.

It would be great to have the canal roads opened to and paved for the public for a much safer and quieter walking and biking route. I have visited several out of state areas where they use these for walking and biking and it is wonderful!! Bikers are away from traffic and walkers have a quiet, safer and sometimes a shorter, more scenic way to travel. I realize in the past it has been taboo for canal roads to be used by the public, but with the growth we are having it may be time to look at new options that have worked well in other areas and could be implemented here to benefit our beautiful and unique community.

There is no continuous sidewalk down Linder between Beacon Light and State highway. There are two schools (Galileo and North Star) with a lot of kids who ride their bikes to school. With all of the new housing developments going in, there is a great need for safe sidewalks to walk/bike on, especially for the school kids.

There is not a continuous sidewalk down Park Lane between Beacon Light and State highway. This makes it very dangerous to walk, run, or cycle. The current options are to risk walking on the street that can have a lot of traffic, especially teenage drivers from Eagle High, hop back and forth Park Lane to the discontinuous pieces of sidewalks, or don’t try. With the High school, the Montessori School, two churches and all of the new housing developments going in, there is a great need for a safe place to walk or cycle down Park Lane, at least from State highway to Beacon Light, where the highest density housing exists.

A safe walking and bike path along Eagle would help allow pedestrians and cyclists get between Chinden and State. This could be a sidewalk or a separate path, but the point would be to allow people to walk or bike between these businesses and the greenbelt without the risk of getting hit by highway traffic moving at 55+mph.

It would be awesome if Eagle and Star could collaborate on an extension of the Greenbelt trail between these two cities. With the population growing rapidly along this corridor this would allow for safer recreational use as well as create a bike commuting corridor from Star through to Boise.

  8. June 16 2019

Biking along this route would be feasible with continuous bike paths or sidewalks. As is, the sidewalks/paths come and go, forcing cyclists onto highway roads with fast moving traffic. This is dangerous for cyclists and frustrating for drivers.

I would really love to see a bike route through Eagle Island State park connecting up to the Greenbelt that doesn't put cyclists onto busy roads (e.g. State or Chinden). Riding from west to east or vice-versa through this area is blocked by gated roads, so riders are forced onto busy highways.

  10. June 16 2019

Tunnel or overpass needed to cross 55 for bike park access. Trying to cross highway 55 with kids is very dangerous.

As a cyclist who lives near andcant help but ride floating feather, I'm well aware that while there are adequately wide bike lanes along floating feather rd. Between 55 and ballantyne, (west of ballantyne, there are no bike lanes but the road is smooth.) due exclusively to achd's insistence on chip sealing the roads, the rough and damaged, debris laden surface of this bike lane is the worst of any I've ridden on and is as bad or worse as any road in the valley. So much so that I and my many cyclist friends, each of whom ride thousands of miles annually avoid floating feather when possible simply because it is rough and unsafe.

If achd would roll the lane to smooth it after chip sealing, it may be tolerable but unlike the driving lanes which get thousands of multi-ton cars and trucks to compact and smooth those lanes, a few hundred cyclists weighing a couple hundred lbs, well you can see and feel the result, a rough, uneven, dangerous surface for cyclists. So we ride in the traffic lane on on the white line.

There is a small walkway that crosses a irrigation canal going north toward State Street. Very difficult to access from this parking lot. Create an access point.

  13. June 14 2019

Downtown Eagle can be very congestion with vehicles, pedestrians, and families on bikes. It is an historic area that could be similar to Charlottesville Va. and similar smaller cities with downtown malls.

Consider a major renovation of this area to create a biking and walking mall.

  14. June 14 2019

Need signs indicating access to the Greenbelt.

  15. June 14 2019

Create bike lanes on Edgewood to Hill Road.

  16. June 14 2019

Bike lane ends about here to State Street. Continue the bike lane to connect to the bike lane that continues on Hill Road.

  17. June 13 2019

I don't know if it is possible, but having a walkable path to the greenbelt from Ballantyne or Eagle+Floating Feather would be great, instead of having to park along Eagle road.

  18. June 13 2019

There are sections of sidewalk here but they are mostly unusable because they aren't continuous. The road is too busy to walk along on the shoulder, especially with any kind of stroller or animal. This prevents me from taking any scenic runs in my neighborhood, or walking my kids to see the horses. I know there aren't sidewalks because the land belongs to individual people and housing developments out them in when they built, but I would love to see sidewalks in this area.

Eagle is a RURAL community. Those of us who chose to live here did so because it is a RURAL community. That means NO SIDEWALKS. If you want to live in a city with with sidewalks, move back to where you came from!!!!

  20. June 12 2019

For safety, add bike lanes on Beacon Light from Eagle Rd. to Linder Rd.

  21. June 11 2019

Corner of Beacon Light onto Eagle is busy 4 way stop. Bikes coming from north often need to cross this and contribute to many near misses. Bike Lanes all along this section of Eagle Road going south are very needed. From Eagle Road towards Hwy 55 on Beacon Light is dangerous to bike without any bike lanes, and needs them!

  22. June 11 2019

We would like a continuous sidewalk for us and our kids to walk on to get to Eagle High School safely.

  23. June 11 2019

There needs to be a way to cross state street via tunnel or bridge over top. No one can safely ride a bike or walk across state street. The point would be to connect people on the North side of State street to the greenbelt. I don't think it matters exactly where it is as long as it gets you across state street and connects you to a bike path.

  24. June 10 2019

finish paving the greenbelt next to Bardenay and behind the cement plant next to the river.

  25. June 10 2019

A continuous sidewalk on both East and West sides of Ballantyne would be great. Neither side is continuos
