Agree with comments about making this an on-demand crossing.

  2. June 09 2020

This intersection can be weird with Grand and Miller/Ask at different angles. Maybe more signage for all users could improve safety. Fairly quiet in my experience though.

  3. June 09 2020

NB/SB crosswalk or bike traffic here on west side of intersection is most at risk here, even more than any Myrtle side. Impatient drivers from both sides trying to get onto Front St. If bike/ped signal could be separated from car signal, drivers wouldn't be mad/impatient/dangerous here. Give bike/ped their own signal for safety. (Their own timing)

  4. June 09 2020

Grove is one of the few nice east-west biking streets around here

  5. June 09 2020

This area will be even more busy when new office and park are done

  6. June 09 2020

Important intersection with Bannock bike way

  7. June 09 2020

Northbound bike lane needs to be careful about right turn traffic here, only looking left. Lots of ped traffic too.

  8. June 09 2020

Many destinations at this intersection and nearby

  9. June 09 2020

Connection to River St is important destination

  10. June 09 2020

Connection to greenbelt is major destination

  11. June 09 2020

Many destinations at Front & 11th

  12. June 09 2020

I agree this is another good intersection for a barn dance, like another suggested. Lots of YMCA and school traffic, and more once the bikeway is done.

  13. June 09 2020

    This connection is important

  14. June 09 2020

Front and Myrtle are my biggest barrier to reaching the greenbelt but they are a barrier everywhere. Here is definitely better than 13th St, and in some ways even better than 15th/16th if biking or especially walking. 8th is best.

  15. June 09 2020

I agree with other comments about signal timing. If not prioritizing bike/ped, could there at least be a compromise?

  16. June 09 2020

I really like this pathway and that it has lighting. I wish the greenbelt was better lit too.

  17. June 09 2020

Seems like there would easily be enough space for bike lanes south of Myrtle. Area is quieter though so less critical.

  18. June 09 2020

It's unsafe to stay in the bike lane here southbound because of all the cars turning right and looking left.

  19. June 09 2020

This intersection could use a similar design change like Myrtle, like improved signals, but Myrtle is more vital because of the pathway. I like the barn dance idea.

  20. June 09 2020

Better connection to Pioneer, especially for northbound travel. Maybe something like a bike box? Extend ped walk signal to make safer for families, all ages and abilities. It's not very long even for biking. Add bike signal? Could push button at corner where path ends, which turns all auto lights red (with appropriate timing), then lights signal for bike/ped only to cross. Like a barn dance intersection, where everyone can cross even diagonally. Would help JUMP traffic too.

  21. June 08 2020

I spent many days observing rush hour traffic at 11th and State. There seems to be a lot of contention between drivers turning onto State and pedestrian/bike traffic going north, south, or diagonally across the intersection. I think this intersection would be a good candidate for one of those pedestrian crossings where people can cross all directions at once rather than waiting for two separate cycles, and perhaps such a thing would make cycling through work better too.

To unlock the 11th Street improvements as a route into downtown from northwest Boise (as opposed to the Greenbelt, which unlike Hill Rd gets increasingly difficult to access the closer to Glenwood you get), I would like to see the bikeway from around 17th through to the north end of the 11th Street improvement formalized and similarly protected. I especially feel unsafe at the 15th/Hill intersection through to the southwest corner of Camelsback Park during rush hour. Everything else through to Glenwood is pretty decent.

  23. June 08 2020

Southbound on 11th when crossing Myrtle causes conflict with cars due to the bike lane not being aligned because of the parked cars.

  24. June 08 2020

This is the key to getting people to use 11th from the Greenbelt. Make this as safe and inviting as Pioneer Path is. It's a busy street to cross so safety (for families) is the main cosideration.

Such a bumpy stretch of road for biking!! ACHD told me there are old trolley tracks beneath the pavement.
