There is little to no parking for school/sport events in Kimberly near the schools/fields. For football games, this makes Banning Dr and Oak St dangerous for pedestrians. For soccer, softball and baseball, visitors park in school parking lots, sometimes making the parking lots dangerous for kids. For theatre's performances at LA Thomas, visitors park where ever they can find spots without getting towed or ticketed
During drop-off, pick up, and school events the traffic is horrible in Kimberly. This intersection backs up all the way to the high school going down Balancr Rock Rd and again in both directions on 3500. This makes the stop sign at 3500 and Hwy 30 extremely dangerous.
Addison avenue has a lane shift near Smith's. That chokes traffic and is almost impossible to navigate without going into the neighboring lane especially if you are pulling a trailer. Pushing the corner of the sidewalk in 1-2 get right there would make a huge difference.
Add a new bridge here to take all trucking and traffic going through twin to get to hw 93 out of the picture. The roads will likely need to be redone on both sides to accommodate the extra use.
This is a critical component to wise growth in the Magic Valley. Not only will this reduce congestion in Twin Falls and on the Perrine Bridge, it will effectively open up the western portion of the county to better planned growth and improve the economy of the western portion of the county. It should also reduce traffic congestion on Clear Lakes grade.
Like Liked 1 timeThe stoplight here needs dedicated left turn lights/lanes on the north and southbound lanes for Hankins. During peak traffic, Hankins can get very congested waiting for one single car to turn left. I have sat there for the duration of an entire green light multiple times.
The situation here is a disaster. The lanes going north are often risking getting hit to move forward because during peak traffic, there’s rarely a break in the traffic going South. I don’t have any specific solution in mind, but we need the most creative engineers getting their heads together asap.
Sidewalks need to be added on both sides of Washington street from South Hills Rd to Orchard. People are daily walking on the sides of the roads here to get to Swensen’s, Family Dollar, and the gas station, and the cars are zooming past at 45. It’s a miracle pedestrians aren’t hit every day here. The speed limit should also be slowed to 35 at this point.
