a ped access across the rail yard to downtown from the depot would help so much in connecting the community. I know the trains are there but we cross tracks all the time. Lets make this work somehow.
-
lots of peds down using these social services. Provide nice sidewalk connection all four directions from here.
-
great loops and recreation in the yards hear at ryan. Connect a little clearer to Gilliam and the Schaible street by lathrop so community can access park
-
connect 3,4,5 with a bike/ped path through Clay street cemetary. Provide winter mainteance so police.fire can use the path as needed and eliminate the dead end streets. CONNECT
-
It seems like there could be connection to west barnette mising here to stay off the barnette sidewalks which are narrow.
-
Lathrop Street Bicycle Facilities
This intersection needs work for bikes and peds. Very large with lots of turning pockets, lights on long delays, clear path on north side not available.
-
There needs to be a clear route on the north side of airport to connect this campground to downtown. Signs, stripes, paths etc.
-
No ped or bike connection to one of our biggest tour attractions the river boat discovery, which has lots of big busses.
-
Van Horn Road – University Avenue – Peger Road
connect south around airport for a nice quite flat bike loop and connect to road near pikes somehow. Goes north back to Davis and Airport or a loop. CONNECT
-
Davis Road: University Avenue–Peger Road
east of Peger the seperated path is on the North side. CONNECT
-
striped facilities on this wide right of way would connect carlson center to davis road recrational facilities on much lower volume road that Cowles or Peger.
-
City of Fairbanks Bike Lane Signing and Striping
Hiton and Kellum are a really nice route for bikes and peds that are not up against loud trafffic, chain link and higher speed road like airport way.
-
public exterior restrooms are imporant for walking.....you never know when......
-
this connector is really subtle...signage to encourage looping. One seems to be in the driveway. Path to south to airport does not get great maintenance
-
big wide one way corridor. Can we use this for a bike or ped use to connect Barnette to Fort wainwright in a more complete nice way.
-
12th Avenue Bicycle Facilities
there needs to be a nice clear ped transition from lacey to noble to continue south to Fort wainwright and the south cushman neighbor hoods.
-
City of Fairbanks Bike Lane Signing and Striping
There needs to be a curb cut from cowles up onto the bike path for bikes going north south. and winter mainteance to keep it open for peds when 1st is bermed with snow.
-
Missing sidewalk at Carlson Center parking lot to connect Pioneer park to downtown and the loop around carlson center. CONNECT
-
City of Fairbanks Bike Lane Signing and Striping
sidewalk missing on west side of cowles. Cowles needs peds on BOTH sides from River to hospital/tcc/dipper complex/Davis that are continous. CONNECT
-
the bike lockers in the garage are under utilized. Can we make the free to encourage daily commuters and protect the bikes at the same time.
-
A ped crossing here to the bike path would improve looping oppurtunities for peds and bikes
-
Yankovich has the Skarland non motorized trail that gets a lot of year round use crossing it but the road itself is too unsafe for a pedestrian with stroller, runner or biker, preventing all but the long distance fitness users to get to the trail. The road isn't even safe for kids waiting to catch the bus. This road needs a nonmotorized trail along the full length of it, connecting it to nonmotorized trails on Ballaine and Sheep Cr Roads.
-
Missing piece of sidewalk on the way to a bus route. A complete miss when rebuilding 5th recently was not completeing this walk on a block to a bus stop. CONNECT
-
Horrible sidewalk on this street, and there is lots of ped traffic near downtown. One sided sidewalks are better than none.
-
Phillips Field Road: Peger Road–Illinois Street
Would the AKRR be willing to sell land for a bike path over the existing rail line along this road or is it still in active use? It seems perfect to use a linear alignment that is already in place and of the right size and could be a good partnership between the railroad and the city. This is an important corridor between the east and west sides of town that has relatively less traffic than the highways and expressway and could improve the economic prospects of shops in the Well St and industrial areas, like art studios hosting 1st Fridays, breweries, eateries, coffee roasters, etc. This should be a high priority area for improvements for bikers and pedestrians, and it would be great if it could connect to the bridge across the river near Alaskaland.
