    This area of Towanicut Street and the VFW have higher speed traffic where tourists are riding bicycles, kids getting off the bus from school and no bike path heading to and from OB. The alternate route from New York Ave. where the any trucks and cars speed by daily. No officers to enforce the speed limit or digital speed signals . Have reported seeing bicyclists being run into the bushes and kids witnessing turkeys being mowed down after getting off the school bus bus. Nothing to deter drivers from road raging around this particular corner. All the neighbors complain too. Need attention here if you’re looking to improve safety and speed related accidents.

    Triangle relief - consider a connector on the back side of Your Market to connect eastbound EVH Rd left turns and eastbound Beach Road right turns - without having to funnel into the area by Post Office Square entrance and Square Rigger.

    Lots of vehicular accidents here over the years (including fatalities). Sidewalks may have improved for pedestrians but still dangerous for vehicles.

    The narrow bridge here with truck and bus traffic is dangerous for vehicles (and bikers). Seen lots of close calls here.

    ALLOW FOR THIS PORTION OF SPRING ST TO BE TWO WAY, WITH TRAVELLERS FROM FRANKLIN BEING ABLE TO GO RIGHT OR LEFT. ITS NEED TO BE TWO WAY THE SAME AS IT IS ON LOOK AND SPRING. ADD A TWO-WAY STOP AND THIS WILLHELP DETER ALL THE TRUCKS WHO DONT FOLLOW THE TRUCK ROUTE.

    It is very hard to make a left from the Vineyard Haven/Edgartown Road unto State Road. After looking that it is clear to drive unto State Road, the cars on State Road speed very fast and seem to appear out of nowhere and almost crash into you. Also cars going unto State Road from VH/Edg. Road sometimes immediately stop short on State Road to either let cars out from Look Street or to enter Look Street themselves causing cars behind them to almost hit them and also to cause major blockages. I think this area is more dangerous than 5 corners. We need a traffic light here.

    Surprised this wasn’t identified as one of the most dangerous intersections. Seems like many accidents still happen here. Vehicles on State travel super fast, esp heading down island.

    The simplest fix here is to make Look Street a one-way street going from State Road toward Spring Street. This intersection is truly terrible even in the off season.

    The last driveways before the intersection with State Rd. are serving two multiple unit buildings. It is often only possible to leave or enter the driveways with the assistance of other drivers who are stopped waiting to make a lefthand turn. The rate of speed that most drivers use when approaching the intersection and stop sign is unsafe and unnecessary. Sight is limited due to traffic volume and there have been two accidents there in the past year. The most recent accident that I'm aware of occurred in December of 2024. I was in that collision and both cars were totaled but no injury occurred.

    This is one more request for help at the intersection of the Edgartown-Vineyard Haven and State Road intersection near Look Street. That area is dangerous even in less populated months of the year.

    The intersection at State Road, Look Street and Edg-VH road is inefficient and dangerous (marked on map). I wasn't able to leave a point on the map for the intersection of middle road, State Road and menemsha cross road in Chilmark but it's a sketchy spot.

    Barnes Road is terrifying on a bicycle or walking. There is no shoulder in many areas and people drive very fast with Blindspot’s In the roadway

    Lamberts Cove Road is a beautiful scenic road and many people want to walk or bike and there is zero space for bicyclist or pedestrians

    Old County is so dangerous for pedestrians and bicycles. Very little space and lots of year-round residents live off of that street.

    I live near here. I’d suggest a traffic light that goes to flashing mode (flashing red toward Barnes Road, yellow both ways on Edg-WT road) at late night and off-season, but then regular red light behavior other times.

    I would like to see a round-about at 5 Corners by taking a portion of the Post Office Parking Lot and the Car Rental Agency, by moving their building back 20 feet.

    This route to the Steamship is highly trafficked! It is an essential route especially when 5 corners is flooded and has been completely ignored as one of the most important thoroughfares on this island. The road should be made safer and prioritized for cars to travel through in both directions. Not only is this a safety issue but it is crucial for evacuations in the case of a natural disaster. We need more than one road to access out lifeline and this is the only other way to the boat besides five corners.
