Comments for “Belgrade Transportation Master Plan Update”

It's unfortunate the Thorpe underpass isn't part of this plan. It has the potential to become a major thoroughfare as the city expands northwest.
-
Traffic along Amsterdam can back up from the I90 intersection all the way to Royal Road in the mornings.
-
Roundabouts on major intersections along Amsterdam would not only slow down traffic, but will also make for safer driving and walking.
-
While costly, a pedestrian tunnel under I90 from Amsterdam to W Madison would pay off multiple times over.
-
This intersection can't detect a bike. You'll wait indefinitely for the light to change unless you press the crosswalk button.
-
Low visibility/blind corners on a higher speed road.
-
This crosswalk is routinely ignored by drivers. It could use flashing lights.

Walking down Amsterdam east from River Rock puts you in a difficult situation here. There is no crosswalk from the northwest corner of Amsterdam/Jackrabbit. There is no sidewalk on the west side of Jackrabbit. You are forced to cross a busy street without a crosswalk in order to get to any sidewalk.
-
Very dangerous intersection. Confusing for drivers, nightmare for pedestrians
-
Left turn arrows needed for all lights at the intersection of Thorpe and Amsterdam.

Left turn arrows needed for all lights at the intersection of Jackrabbit and Madison.
-
Left turn arrows needed to allow safer turns across opposing lanes of traffic off of Jackrabbit and on to Frank Rd.
-
Dedicated right & (especially) left turn lane(s) onto Cruiser would keep traffic from piling up, especially on NB Dry Creek.
-
With this being essentially a main entry to a lot of the new construction homes in the area, a roundabout would be nice here to alleviate congestion.
-
A roundabout here. Or turn lanes.
-
Make jackrabbit into a four-lane road at least on this side of Main Street
-
A roundabout would be great.
-
Sidewalks/paths for walkers and bikers needed as this piece of land gets developed
-
With a wonderful new Frank Road with sidewalks east of Jackrabbit, it would be nice to have sidewalks/paths west of Jackrabbit as well in order to connect walkers and bikers all the way from River Rock area (and the future new school) to the east side of Belgrade
-
Many people already walk or bike along Thorpe and many more will, including children once the school is built by Frank Rd. so a safe path for walker and bikers is needed. Also, if there is a path, more and more people would utilize it and not be as reliant on vehicle transportation.
-
There needs to be a walking and biking path/trail all the way from the Gallatin River fishing access (Linney Road would be even better) to Jackrabbit.
Many people walk this road in all hours of the day and it's only going to get busier once the state land get's developed -
Add a bus stop
-
keep sidewalks and bike lanes clear of debris. It seems like every time I walk or bike somewhere there is sand, gravel and even large rocks on the sidewalks and bike lanes. I have noticed this on Jackrabbit as well as Alaska Rd S and round-abouts

Difficult Visibility when trying to turn left from 13th to main.
