Crossing the street here (in either direction) is risky because of the lack of right-turn arrows on the traffic signal for Westbound Elden St. I press the "walk" button, and just as the walk signal activates, new traffic arrives that just watched me standing and not crossing, so they assume they can go through with their right turn... exactly when pedestrian-me starts to cross.
I don’t think people on Crestview have enough sight line to make a left safely onto Sterling. Especially during higher traffic volume the left turn can take entirely too long, which holds up the traffic trying to exit.
It's very difficult to make a turn from Madison Street here, especially if you're a bicycle. You can't see around trees and it's impossible to know if a car is coming.
Too tight with all the cars on both sides, and when busses go by, they creep across the yellow line since there is not enough room.
Traffic light should default to red lon Alabama to reduce excessive speeding on Alabama.
This informal pedestrian path in town right-of-way should be upgraded to an asphalt trail to provide safe and accessible access to the Herndon Station and downtown.
Pedestrians should be given priority over cars when crossing. Specifically, a leading pedestrian interval should be provided to allow pedestrians to enter the crosswalk before cars are given a green light.
Bicyclists on the trail cross Van Buren against the light all day everyday. There is usually a sandwich board sign on one side of the trail reminding them to obey the lights, but the logo is the same size as the message. It's ineffective. I see close calls multiple times a week and it's always because of the cyclist. Drivers need to be careful, too, but at this crossing it's definitely the trail users causing the danger
Difficult for pedestrians to cross here, roads don’t line up.crosswalk could be helpful
Difficult for pedestrians to cross, cars do not stop for people in cross walk
Need to add formal crosswalk. Lots of foot and bike traffic to trail and no vehicles stop.
Mall sign blocks vision for walkers and cars. Sogn needs to be removed. All sidewalks on Elden need to be removed from right on the street.
Blind intersection with sharp drop offs on shoulder/drainage ditch
Blind intersection with steep drop offs on shoulders/ drainage ditch
Cars are not looking for pedestrians when exiting from this mall. Sidewalk is right on the street. Have almost been hit her walking several times. Almost all malls on Elden have high potential to hit pedestrians.
Need seed humps here
Sidewalks are too rough. Need to be fixed
Should be a 4 way stop here.
Additional busses create sight issues
Double parking is an issue. Need parking one side only
Speeding
It would make sense to close roads like Lynn during events
Its difficult to wait here with children for the bus. And there needs to be a crosswalk for branch drive
There should be a multimodal lane here to bike into downtown.
Traffic going into town of Herndon doesn’t always reduce speed to25mph
