  1. February 19 2015

Pedestrians often jaywalk in this area. Sometimes while texting and not watching out for vehicles. Dangerous!

  2. February 19 2015

If something isn't done to discourage jaywalkers, someone is going to be killed. They often cross here--in heavy traffic conditions, at night. #1 cite jaywalkers. #2 add another crossing location

  3. February 19 2015

Too often, pedestrians are attempting to cross the street here.

  4. February 19 2015

When walking from University across to Papa Joe's, it is very dangerous to watch all oncoming traffic. The signals are slow. It would be ideal to have some sort of bridge to allow everyone to walk/bike across without having to navigate through a series of stop-and-wait crossings.

  5. February 19 2015

This light is very confusing. Visibility is difficult when leaving Chrisway and turning left. I would suggest a standard red light to control safe traffic flow.

  6. February 19 2015

A widened bike/walking path is necessary on the West side of Capital, similar to that on the East side. A majority of cyclists and pedestrians from the Depot Bench use this side of Capital.

  7. February 19 2015

A catwalk in this area, crossing over Capitol Blvd. would be a great way to get pedestrians out of and away from traffic. It would allow continuous pedestrian crossing without having to wait or be near the many vehicles that use this street daily. The catwalk could be used for people on bikes as well.

The extra lane here increases traffic speeds across the bridge and into downtown. No matter how many lanes there are, it will always be crowded. Build a complete street with bike/ped facilities through this area. Slow the speeds down. It is NOT necessary to go 30-40 mph down a main street into the downtown. This is not a freeway, it is an urban street.

  9. February 19 2015

Increased speeds by people driving cars in this area. The additional turn lane after Royal makes people punch the gas pedal to get over to the double left onto University Drive. Slow this down, there is no need for speed in a school zone.

  10. February 19 2015

The sidewalk over the bridge is very narrow and hard to pass if there is cross traffic. Consider widening sidewalk.

  11. February 19 2015

Jaywalking/bike crossing area from both sides. There is easy greenbelt access from the MIDDLE of the road!! The parking lot encourages dangerous crossings. I look forward to the redesign of this area, which should include bike facilities coming from Royal and connecting with Capitol Blvd Bike lanes and the greenbelt.

  12. February 19 2015

Jaywalking all along this stretch. Dangerous high speed (35mph+) traffic in this area and 3-5 lanes on each side. There are few crosswalks: University/Capitol, Greenbelt underpass near Royal or Capitol at River. This is a university district with MANY people walking and biking. More needs to be done for access crossing this street. The sidewalks in this area are connected in a jumbled way, lots of elevation changes, set backs, curb cuts, etc. Not a ped friendly area at all. Consider reducing the speed limit all along this corridor, starting at 9th and Main from the North and at Rosehill/Vista/Federal way from the South. This is a school zone. Period.

  13. February 19 2015

Heavy pedestrian crossing area. The slope, poor sidewalk facility and heavy right turning traffic make this a terrible access area. There is limited ADA accommodation here.

  14. February 19 2015

No facilities to accommodate heavy bike traffic in this area. Scary, blind corner for anyone crossing closer to the depot. People riding bikes the wrong way coming off of the bench (where else can they go???) and lots of people walking down from the bench. People driving cars are speeding into this area. This needs either a dedicated bike lane on the street, a two way track like Federal Way, or a path coming from the area behind the anniversary inn and new apartment complex. This will only get worse if something isn't done.

  15. February 19 2015

I would like to see this 5-way intersection modified. It's cool that there is access to Boise Avenue here but I think it makes the intersection more dangerous - especially for bikes/pedestrians.

  16. February 19 2015

Heavy Ped/bike crossing area and heavy right turning car/truck traffic that can turn sharp right or long right. I have seen students hit by cars in this area. Consider preemptive ped crossing light to let people cross before turns. Consider a dedicated right turn light, make this a right turn only lane, no rights on red? Put a bike box in that will get the bikes off the sidewalk; continue the bike lane down Capitol, including over the bridge!

  17. February 19 2015

Conflict area with poor ped ramps and nowhere for bikes to go after coming off of the Federal Way path.

  18. February 19 2015

Making a right hand turn at this corner during evening rush hour is more difficult than a right turn should be.

  19. February 19 2015

Speed bumps, traffic calming perhaps? Drivers are flying up this turnoff where there are tons of walkers and bikers on and off the sidewalk.

  20. February 19 2015

This crosswalk is crazy dangerous. No curb ramp for wheels either. Drivers going for too fast around this corner.

  21. February 19 2015

Drivers are hauling up this hill. Why was this built as a 6 lane divided highway? It leads into a downtown and a campus with 20,000 students.

  22. February 19 2015

Coming from the Alpine area, this is not an ideal route for cyclists (wrong way on a sidewalk!). Is there enough right of way for a wider path?

  23. February 19 2015

This intersection is crazy as sh!t for walking and biking. I don't have a solution, but I bet someone could come up with a better way to get the student population East and West. There are hundreds more apartments being built in the Lusk area.

  24. February 19 2015

This sidewalk is full of people daily. There has to be a better way to support all this bike and pedestrian traffic.

  25. February 18 2015

Multi-use trail up to Crescent Rim!
