Is it possible to use the old rail bed that parallels Iron mountain Rd or add bike lanes so that a loop can be done using the River trail and Middle Creek trail

As part of the new development in this area I would like to see a paved river trail access.

Browning St needs to have Bike lanes added between Churn Creek and Canby. And the bike lane needs to be fixed west bound between Canby and Hilltop.

Over all Shasta View isn't too bad. With just one very dangerous spot. Between Hartnell and Leonard. Narrow with cars entering and turning.

I was commuting on Airport Rd to get to work. But I have been driving for the last 2 years. The road is too narrow and speed to high. It is the major north/south in east Redding to Anderson.

Is this really private property? No Access to Clover Creek?

Traffic lanes have been repaved with no shoulder improvements. Now vehicles drive faster and make less noise on smooth pavement, while cyclist have to navigate narrow rough shoulders.

Shasta View is a perfect candidate for a separated/protected bikeway. There is a lot of unused right of way, mostly dirt currently, where the bikeway could be build. There are no driveways coming onto Shasta View and the intersections are very wide currently so plenty of room to work with. This would give people a safe way to get to the Clover Creek Preserve and maybe combine a neighborhood bike way on Galaxy Way connecting to the planed improvements on Victor would give families in the area a way to safely get to Enterprise community Park as well.

Since this is a section of road with a 55 MPH speed limit and there is a long stretch between intersections with no driveways there really should be a physical barrier between the bike lane and the regular auto lanes. The traffic lanes are wide enough that a little bit of space could be taken from them to add the physical barriers. Given the increase of distracted driving it doesn't take much for a vehicle traveling at 55 or more to drift into the bike lane and hit and kill who ever is riding there. Since there are no driveways in this area adding barriers should not be much of an issue.

There needs to be no parking signs installed along this route. There are often cars parked in the bike lane which forces riders into the lane of traffic. The parked cars are mostly an issue going south but the area near the trail head isn't an issue since the shoulder/bike lane is wide enough there. The parked cars are mainly an issue around the shasta Villa area and in one case is a company van that tends to be parked in the same location.

These trails simply end here - they should connect to Railroad Ave to the east, which provides virtually uninterrupted travel straight into downtown due to the RR right of way. This should also be extended down Westside Road - so many low income households that would benefit from a safe connection.

I second the comment for a connection from Park Marina to Placer and the school.

Goes from bike to no bike lane here, then lane narrows further east. I don't like to travel here, but there's no real alternative route to get to north downtown area.

This intesection is soooo unaccommodating to walking and bicycling. Only has crosswalks on half the intersection. No bike lanes. Lots of turning movements. Offset lanes. I'm not even sure what can be done about it, except find a way to divert to other roadways (i.e. Trinity, Shasta, Pine, California)

Swasey Dr is another great connector that is popular for cyclist, but offers next to zero accommodations for cyclists and pedestrians. In addition to connecting N/S, the Swasey Trailhead is an enormously popular destination.

This whole Placer St corridor outside of Redding is hugely popular for cycling, but with only the most minimally safe accommodations.

There's a little unofficial trail connecting Eureka Way to the Mary Lake Trail/Neighborhood. Part of it goes through the cemetary. Would be cool formally connected because it serves so many households. Offers a mostly accommodating route to Shasta High, UPrep, Downtown. And also the River trail trailhead off Buena Ventura. Crossing Eureka/299 can be sketchy when busy though.

A crosswalk here at Placer & Center would make it easier to access the park from Yaadgar.

The connection from S Market to Parkview is dangerous. If you are lucky the traffic is stopped at the light at W. Cypress and you can get across but it traffic isn't being held by the stoplight it is dangerous even for experienced cyclists to get across to Parkview.

As the bike lane overlay shows the bike lane ends in the middle of the block which is just bad. The bike lane on Cypress going west is already narrow and to have it just end in the middle of the block just makes it a trap.
