Between the vertical metal posts on the paved Sacramento River Trail (near the restrooms) and Corum Rd, off road vehicles often kick up large amounts of gravel onto the paved section, making it hard to get to Corum road without swerving to avoid the largest rocks. Also on the descent from the top of the dam down Corum Rd to the parking lot area for off road vehicles, the descent sometimes has a lot of gravel kicked onto the pavement, and this can be dangerous for cyclists just coasting down the descent. Can these areas be swept several times a year by motorized sweepers?

When you are heading west from Churn Creek Rd over the Hwy 5 overpass to S. Bonneyview or Bechelli Ln, the shoulder bordering the white line has a thick clump of asphalt that needs to be removed, to avoid it you have to swerve left into a traffic lane.

Lake Blvd that begins north of the intersection of Lake Blvd and Shasta Dam Rd, and goes to the visitor center near Shasta Dam has severely deteriorated on the climb to the top "Centimundi". Descents are dangerous because of potholes, erosion, rough pavement, and rocks. This is the main route from Shasta Dam and the paved river trail to and from Redding and the Shasta Lake area.

Light up the entire river trail! Start a GoFundMe or something. Make the trail safer.

Heading westbound on Churn Creek there is an asphalt seam bump that needs to be ground off.

There shouldn't be a crosswalk on a blind corner.

Use Lower Springs and Swasey as a commute route. Bike lanes or a bit of a shoulder would feel a lot safer.

Worst bike lane configuration ever here, forces the bike to get right hooked if going straight.

Bringing a class 1/protected bike lane to here and paving Lewiston turnpike road into Lewiston would give cross country access by bike! As it stands now you can not get to trinity county safely at all by bike

A ton of cyclist cross here a RFB crosswalk would be great!

There is a ton of trail crossing here, a RFB crosswalk or an underpass would be great!

The bridge over Churn Creek is a bottleneck to both bikers and pedestrians. Very narrow, so exposure to vehicular traffic is severe.

This road is in terrible condition for automobiles. Specificially there are delaminated sections of tarmac over the bridges. The sides of the road are littered with debris and road matter. For cycling there is no safe alternate pathway on S Bonneyview from East Bonneyview intersection going west.
I live on East Bonneyview. There are no shoulders on the street and it's overall unsafe to travel by bike.
If you create a bikepath along East Bonneyview that includes Eastside Road that would connect many other bike paths. Please consider this as a much needed connection for us commuter cyclist. My work # is 530-225-6194Liked 2 times -
This short section on Railroad Ave is on the way to MLK Park and Mercy Hospital. It is a section of road with no sidewalk and no bike lane on a curve, making it an unsafe route to the park.

One suggestion to help with enforcement of safe driver behavior is to have police pose as cyclists to catch unsafe drivers, like in London: http://www.citylab.com/commute/2017/01/london-bike-police-officers-car-cycling-safety/514688/
The program resulted in fewer cyclist injuries and fatalities-I would love if Redding could do the same!Liked 1 time -

On California Street between Tehama and Shasta, the bike lane is in the "door zone" and I don't ride in it to avoid getting doored. This makes drivers upset because I am not riding in the place designated for cyclists. Consider removing on-street parking, or positioning the bike lane outside of the door zone.

This little bike path spur was a great addition for some active transportation users who need to continue north or east, however, it simply ends. A great route eastbound from here, in my opinion, is to go east on E Palisades Ave, cut across the north side of Macy's and exit the mall parking lot through the northeast. A major improvement to this short trip would be to remove parking that is adjacent to the north side of the Macy's building, or possibly make it parallel parking instead. Currently the vehicles park 90 degrees to the building and cannot see approaching traffic from the west.

There needs to be a clearly signed method for cyclists to get eastbound onto the Sacramento River Trail when approaching from the Sundial Bridge area. Are cyclists supposed to get in the left lane (which is vehicular-through) and turn left onto the path when the light turns green, or are we supposed to dismount on the right side, press the ped signal, walk across Sundial Bridge Drive, remount our bikes and continue our trip?

Restrict the allowable size of trucks through the downtown core. By doing this, roadways would not need to be so wide nor would turning radii need to be so great. Also, it would help with air quality.

The bike lane is covered in gravel, cracks, and potholes and the bridge over the creek has no shoulder. Perhaps signage on all bike lanes or routes stating that "bicycles may use full lane". Would increase safety.

Need bike lanes, wide shoulders or a separate path along the road in the vicinity of the high school. Separate path would be best to keep the kids safe and keep walkers/bikers further from the crazy high school drivers.
