Comments for “PCTPA Regional Bikeway Plan Update”

There is really no safe way to get out of Christian Valley, into town, on a bike. I picked Sugar Pine Ridge Park because it's along the recreational perimeter trail of Winchester, and there's a lot of parking, for two options of getting to the "trailhead". My dream trail would be a bike route from this park to a new shared use path through the PG&E property between Halsey Forebay and Dry Creek Road (people could also use Tutor Totter parking area as a "trailhead"). Getting to this intersection of Bowman and Dry Creek would be huge in improving bicycle safety out of Christian Valley and create an amazing passive recreation trail through this beautiful PG&E property.

Horseshoe Bar Rd - from I80 to Auburn-Folsom need a bike lane for safety - blind spots and dropoff edge
-
English Colony Way from Sierra College Blvd to Penyn Elementary School needs widening and bike lane - it is listed as bike route on county maps and is daily used my bikes - has dropoff edge and many blind areas
-
bike path connecting Commons Beach and Fanny Bridge while not going through private property.
-
Add shoulder/bike lane markings

Please start monitoring improvement plans processed thru the County. Many times bike lanes are conditioned and then when the developer runs out of room, concessions are made that either remove the bikeway altogether-in part or whole, or have the owner widen a sidewalk and then call that a multi-use path and delete the bike lane (Douglas Blvd.) Safety first is NOT a priority.

With installation of bike routes/paths in area of Extensive residential development, biking would be safer and folks encouraged to bike.
-
I'd like to see the path continued for more access to other routes.
-
From the Miner's Ravine trail we continue riding along Cavitt Stallman Road to points beyond. Having some shoulder to ride on would make it much safer.
-
Complete the bike lane through Loomis
-
We've been waiting a long time for this section of washed-out bike lane to be repaired. It's closure means we have to use busy roads or go way out of our way.
-
This is a beautiful road to ride, but adding some bike lane striping would be helpful.
-
Better connections between Auburn Folsom and trail on the levee
-
Need a safer way to cross I80.
-
Would be nice to have a bike lane on Santa Juanita.
-
Section of 193 between Sierra College and Fowler is dangerous for cyclists due to lack of shoulder.
-
Placer Hills Road is narrow and windy. There is insufficient space for bikes to travel safely with cars. The white line is often on the edge of the road, so bicycles are traveling in the traffic lane. A bike lane sufficient for bicycles that are not in the traffic lane is needed.
-
The bike lane on Bell Road is unsafe. Traffic travels 55-65 MPH on this road ands bikes are only able to travel in the shoulder area, where there is a lot of small rocks and trash.
-
Foresthill Road seems to have an adequate shoulder to facilitate the bike lane signage
-
How about a connection from this trail up to Duluth or Cincinnati Ave.
-
Save taxpaer dollars and forget about any bike plan.
-
Typical 2 lane road with no bike lane that is very hazardous to ride a bike.
-
Auburn is "The Endurance Capital of the World" and has no dedicated bike paths or bike lanes on the roads. That is hypocrisy!
-
Make these beautiful scenic country roads more bike friendly. Thank you.

Bike path from Truckee to lake Tahoe via northstar should be a priority
