Something needs to be done about tractor trailers and other vehicles going above speed limits with disregard of safety of others that work delivering and picking up. Like sanitation workers and mailman and even penndot workers. Has been a lot of fatalities on all of 309
Not just in this area but many other roads with patch-work repairs, the county often lags in repainting the center and fog lines. I've called it in to the county before and at one point was met with opposition in the form of, "That paint is very expensive. It costs over $2,000.00 per mile to repaint lines on a road."
I was dumbfounded but commented, "Well, that's a deal when you consider lives are at stake. Sir, we cannot see the road in the dark especially if it's raining."
I guess I touched a nerve with him because they repainted that section shortly after my call.
I'll be sure and take notice of any other stretches of road I see with this problem and submit them here.
Thank you for your obvious concern in running this program.
Coming from Hanover High School to the blinking light at Middle Road, needs to be a traffic light. It is extremely dangerous trying to get out onto Middle Road. This needs to be addressed with the new Hanover Elementary School to open in the future.
there should be a stop sign if going across demunds road onto campground road and sedler road - cars do not stop if crossing demunds road - they think they have the right of way - have had a few close calls - cars do not stop crossing demunds road
West County Road from Wapwallopen to Hobbie is terrible with pot holes. Hazard to drivers and cars. Drivers cross over lanes to try and avoid pot holes. Accident just waiting to happen. Brush along roadway hasn't been maintained in a long time, growing out over road.
Laurel Run Road is simply a short cut to drugs being brought into the Wyoming Valley. It also has multiple multiple multiple accidents with these out of town and state cars as well as NUMEROUS heavy duty truck accidents. That have killed people and destroyed numerous peoples property. Laurel Run Road would benefit from being taken off the Waze and Google maps (if only possible).
West County Road (County Road 30) from the intersection with St Mary's Road in Hobbie to the intersection with PA Route 239 in Wapwallopen is in deplorable condition.
The intersection between Scott street and E main st being misaligned often results in traffic not stopping for others to take their turn
Speed Limit should be increased. Speed trap.
The do not enter signs leaving citizens bank parking lot are too high/not easy to see.
There should be a traffic light here, or return it as it was to give traffic on Hillside and Old 115 the right of way. There is way too much traffic during rush hour to have a 5-way stop, and no one obeys stop sign etiquette.
There should be a red light here as there is too much traffic pulling in and out of Dollar General, Red Rooster, and Beer Distributor. Or lower the speed limit.
Intersection with grassy pond is a sight distance problem. You cannot see traffic coming up Main Rd from 118 around retaining wall. This intersection should be one-way onto grassy pond.
Restaurant should be made to have curbing, or at least paved parking lot with assigned spaces as patrons of the business back out onto a blind hill into traffic.
Tree located at the corner the church’s house property creates a sight distance issue. Pulling out of Reyburn in any direction you cannot see the traffic coming up Hunlock-Harveyville. Traffic often does not stop for the stop signs at the 4 way intersection, so navigating through this intersection is very dangerous, but especially when you cannot see what is coming.
Sight distance problem. Meter should not be in front of Blue Sky Hibachi, you cannot see in the direction of Carey Avenue up RT 11 to pull into RT 11 when there is a vehicle parked at the meter.
The street sign for Harrison Street is missing.
The other comment I posted ended up in the wrong area. The area surrounding kings college should have more pedestrian crossings where traffic yields to them as my son was hit by a car trying to cross. He was severely injured and needed multiple surgeries. It's very unsafe.
My son was hit by a car while crossing the street in this area. He is a student at Kings and with the amount of traffic there is surrounding the campus there should really be more pedestrian crossing and not just at crosswalks. This is a very busy and dangerous area for pedestrians.
In this vicinity the interstate switches from three lanes to two. The warning sign of this change is too close to the actual change, and I have observed numerous situations in which motorists struggle to merge, especially those not familiar with the layout.
Hanover st in the industrial park is an accident waiting to happen. With the driving center located there, and businesses with truck traffic the road is in need of repaving.
aye
Needs better one way signs and speed awareness as children are at play
Concern is street is not clear that it is a one way at the end of the street meeting rose lane cars constantly come up the one way can harm children playing or collide with cars coming down the proper way also not enough signs to slow down children at play it's concerning the speed that is traveled down this small street
There are no marked pedestrian crosswalks at the intersection of South Franklin and West Market Streets. Because of high pedestrian traffic throughout downtown Wilkes-Barre, all intersections should have properly designed crosswalks.
