No shoulders. Vegetation on road side limits sight distances and allows for no bicycle or pedestrian traffic.
Deer in the road which cannot be seen when coming around the corner. Speeding is an issue
SPEEDING CARS AND BIKES. DANGEROUS SWERVING
Motorbikes and motorcycles speeding during the day
No proper shoulder for riding/biking. Pavement is damaged in many places. Tractor trailers disregarding 25 mph speed limit through residential section of Hanover Section.
Unsafe walking/biking conditions on Middle Road between Kosciusko Street and Prospect Street, and Espy Street for Hanover Section residents. No sidewalks or proper shoulder, too many tractor trailers riding over roundabouts. Roundabouts not well maintained for pedestrians/bikers.
The button for the crosswalk on the Eastern side of Wyoming Ave is broken and pedestrians cannot call up the Walk signal from that side of the street.
People speed through the corners, and multiple people report being passed here, creating an unsafe environment.
People drive far too fast. There are many children, older folks, and pets on this road, and the constant speeding puts the community at risk.
Hollenback St is a one way at the intersection of North River. I would like a line painted at the end of Hollenback and arrows pointing, right and left, because there are so many people who are not in the correct lane when turning, holding up traffic and almost causing an accident because they make a left turn from the right turning lane. I drive this way everyday and I've seen it happen Many times. If some unsuspecting driver isn't aware that this street has right and left turning lanes, there Will be accidents here. We've asked Many times for a line and arrows to be put here but Nothing was ever done. I'd be grateful if this could be fixed.
Correction to typo in previous comment: the intersection of S. Franklin and W. NORTHAMPTON Streets is the location where the marked pedestrian crosswalks are badly worn and should be re-striped. There are very high pedestrian volumes at this intersection.
This is a blind spot when turning left to go up the mountain off of Charles Street. We would love to have a mirror set up to help us more safely pull out.
Something needs to be done about tractor trailers and other vehicles going above speed limits with disregard of safety of others that work delivering and picking up. Like sanitation workers and mailman and even penndot workers. Has been a lot of fatalities on all of 309
Not just in this area but many other roads with patch-work repairs, the county often lags in repainting the center and fog lines. I've called it in to the county before and at one point was met with opposition in the form of, "That paint is very expensive. It costs over $2,000.00 per mile to repaint lines on a road."
I was dumbfounded but commented, "Well, that's a deal when you consider lives are at stake. Sir, we cannot see the road in the dark especially if it's raining."
I guess I touched a nerve with him because they repainted that section shortly after my call.
I'll be sure and take notice of any other stretches of road I see with this problem and submit them here.
Thank you for your obvious concern in running this program.
Coming from Hanover High School to the blinking light at Middle Road, needs to be a traffic light. It is extremely dangerous trying to get out onto Middle Road. This needs to be addressed with the new Hanover Elementary School to open in the future.
there should be a stop sign if going across demunds road onto campground road and sedler road - cars do not stop if crossing demunds road - they think they have the right of way - have had a few close calls - cars do not stop crossing demunds road
West County Road from Wapwallopen to Hobbie is terrible with pot holes. Hazard to drivers and cars. Drivers cross over lanes to try and avoid pot holes. Accident just waiting to happen. Brush along roadway hasn't been maintained in a long time, growing out over road.
Laurel Run Road is simply a short cut to drugs being brought into the Wyoming Valley. It also has multiple multiple multiple accidents with these out of town and state cars as well as NUMEROUS heavy duty truck accidents. That have killed people and destroyed numerous peoples property. Laurel Run Road would benefit from being taken off the Waze and Google maps (if only possible).
West County Road (County Road 30) from the intersection with St Mary's Road in Hobbie to the intersection with PA Route 239 in Wapwallopen is in deplorable condition.
The intersection between Scott street and E main st being misaligned often results in traffic not stopping for others to take their turn
Speed Limit should be increased. Speed trap.
The do not enter signs leaving citizens bank parking lot are too high/not easy to see.
There should be a traffic light here, or return it as it was to give traffic on Hillside and Old 115 the right of way. There is way too much traffic during rush hour to have a 5-way stop, and no one obeys stop sign etiquette.
There should be a red light here as there is too much traffic pulling in and out of Dollar General, Red Rooster, and Beer Distributor. Or lower the speed limit.
Intersection with grassy pond is a sight distance problem. You cannot see traffic coming up Main Rd from 118 around retaining wall. This intersection should be one-way onto grassy pond.
