Comments for “PCTPA Regional Bikeway Plan Update”
-
Barton from Douglas BLVD all the way to BRACE is super dangerous for cyclists and runners because the road is too narrow with not a dedicated cycle lane. Cars try to pass and sometimes I have witnessed close calls for the cyclists and motorists.
-
This whole north Loomis/Penryn area has a lot of bike traffic but there are no shoulders so it is dangerous.
-
More bike lanes along South Cirby Way to Cirby Way both West and Eastbound and adjustment of traffic signal for left turn from Rocky Ridge to McClaren Drive along Maidu Park.
-
There are no connecting bike/pedestrian paths in this area. It would be nice if the Teal Hollow area was connected to other parts of the city through a dedicated pathway.
-
Add dedicated/wider bike lanes over Industrial and over highway 65. What's available here looks like an afterthought and is poorly done.
-
Add missing bike lanes to Taylor and Pacific.
-
Please continue use and upkeep of trail between Beals Point and Treelake Park
-
Connect Dry Creek Trail to Miners Ravine Trail along creek.
-
Widening of the Shoulder on either side of Virginatown
-
Extend this path to Dry Creek. There is no safe way to walk or ride a bike from the Sierra Gardens neighborhood to downtown, Royer Park, or the City Library.
-
There needs to be a stoplight on Rocky Ridge at Loretto or Johnson Ranch to slow traffic through this corridor. My kids can't ride their bikes to Maidu because they have to cross Rocky Ridge, which basically turns into a freeway in the morning.
-
Auburn Folsom Road need better markings and bike path designation pathways. Not enough shoulder area.
-
No bike lane on this heavily traveled road for cyclists and vehicles.
-
Width of bike lane differs considerably down Auburn-Folsom, which is a heavily traveled road for cyclists. Bikes and vehicles need greater separation. Plus existing bike lanes are poorly maintained with bush overhangs, glass, and objects.
-
Uphill and Downhill bike lanes along Indian Hill. There is little to no bike lane downhill, and limited space uphill.
-
Nelson is VERY tight, especially crossing the two creeks. There's not a lot of traffic, but motorists fly down this road.
-
There is absolutely no shoulder on Rock Springs and it has a large number of cyclists. The road has many curves which make it extremely difficult to pass.
-

The majority of the roadways in this area have no shoulder. The pavement ends at the fog line. They are narrow, 2-lane roads with blind corners, many driveways and a 40 mph speed limit. This is a very popular area for bicyclists and is extremely dangerous for motorists and cyclists alike.

This is a high density population area that would benefit from a joint plan with Sacramento county. There is no good options for connecting from the Placer county bike trails to the Sacramento county bike trails. Providing a safe joint plan would be a big win.
