Comments for “Gilbert Transportation Master Plan”
-
Speed limit too low - especially southbound, seems unnecessary because the road is wide
-
Should have a better ped/bike connection between the trail and the park at several spots
-
Congested intersection with bad geometrics
-
Burk is really wide for the amount of traffic and number of lanes, makes people go really fast. Should use buffered or separated bike lanes to narrow the traffic lanes.
-
I've seen round-a-bouts becoming more popular for off ramps merging onto the road. Is that something that could be done here to keep traffic moving?
-
Connect the Gilbert regional park to the trail
-
connect the freeway trail to discovery park
-
Open this gate to ped and bicycle traffic
-
This trail is really ugly and not lit at night which makes it feel dangerous
-
Open the gates to peds and bicycles on both sides of QC
-
connect this trail
-
Extend this freeway trail to connect to Crossroads park and next canal trail
-
There is no trail cross walk at this location
-
Create connector trail from Desert Sky park to Floodway trail
-
Widen the lane to make a right turn easier if you are headed southbound
-
People always try to cross the street here when they are biking along the trails, there should be a stoplight
-
There are so many accidents on this corner. We have even been involved in one. People try to speed through the red lights I recommend doing what they did in Los Angeles with a four-way stop. I know it sounds unrealistic but there are so many children crossing the street to go to Bashes or Subway. My family and I have had several close calls with people not paying attention to pedestrians. They lowered the risk at some stops in California by implementing a four-way stop with a diagonal crossing so for a couple of minutes the entire intersection is clear. You could have some thing where there’s an option for kids and families to push a button to clear the entire intersection to keep people safer. We live very close to the intersection and hear sirens too often

No u turns for traffic going northbound on val vista.Vista. I watch near accidents daily as cars are u turning and the cars leaving motor plex loop aren't paying attention
-
bike lane travel north and south

This Merger could be better.

A sidewalk on the West side of the street without be nice. With a crosswalk at Frye. Don’t need a sidewalk on the East side till the road is widened.
-
Traffic is often backed up all the way to here or further back en route to the 202 entrance. The fact it’s only labeled as “mild congestion” is nuts.
Traffic on this road needs to be better handled.
-
We need speed bumps on this street. People speed which is dangerous for children walking to school.
-
Left hand turns here are very dangerous. Both sides of the traffic come off a curb and many speed.

This intersection is in need of a light. With CASTEEL HS and now the 6 lanes it can be a nightmare trying to turn left across all 6 lanes and HUGE safety concern.
