It is next to impossible to make a left turn onto Market Street out of any of these access points from the shopping center
-
Not sure why this path narrows to five feet. It should have been constructed to at least eight feet in width.
-
Need to construct a concrete shared use path along Freestone Park boundary.
-
Need to construct underpass at railroad.
-
Path needs to be widened based on volume of use.
-
Right turn lane needed and allow right turn on red. This area backs up like crazy.
-
Take out street parking and instead install right turn lanes. Traffic backs up too much.
-
The speed limit reduction to 25 is absurd. It’s bottle necking this area and causing unnecessary road rage for those not following the speed limit. Increase to 35 or put more law enforcement to start giving tickets.
-
Enforce no right on red. Used to see motorcycle cop but not in the last year or so.
-
VERY dangerous crossing Higley from canal trail.
-
VERY dangerous crossing Germann from the canal.
-
Very dangerous and heavily used intersection. Possible light or right turn only exiting Boston.
-
Change crosswalk to the flashing red light. Drivers ignore the flashing yellows.
-
Keep speed limit at 25 and provide more enforcement. This is already a congested area with a lot of turn outs and turn ins and will only get worse with Verde opening this year.
-
Need a redesign of this intersection both exiting the mall and turning left from Williams Field onto Market. Also, more enforcement of the no right turn on red from Market onto Williams Field.
-
Possible light?
-
Extremely congested exit, backs up into stop sign and causes traffic gridlock
-
Bike/pedestrian crosswalk would be nice
-
Homeless people taking over several bus stops lately.

Remove street parking and bring speed limit back up. Even if it’s 35. That seems more reasonable than 25mph zones. On street parking is going to cause congestion being that it’s only 2 lanes vs. 3 lane roads on mostly all major Gilbert roads.
-
Remove large brick sidewalks and put in right turn lanes. So much traffic backs up on just 2 lanes and would be alleviated it right turn cars can get through via turn only lane.
-
Neighborhood light or some form of crosswalk for bicyclist/pedestrians. Especially this close to the new “walkable” corridor.

Parking in downtown Gilbert can be tough, as you know. Crossing Elliot on foot is a challenge. If it's a priority to safely connect north/south of Elliot road, this intersection will need to be enhanced for pedestrian safety.
