    Bicycle Facility Gap

I commute to work by bicycle from NE PDX via Springwater to Sellwood Br through cemetery and out Boones Fy to Tualatin because Barbur is not safe. It would be good to have bike lane on hill from Tryon Cr south to Stephenson. Or at least sweep the narrow strip that is there. Without sweeping I am cycling in the traffic lane - still safer than Barbur.

Motor vehicles always crowd or overshoot this stop line on red light. Please widen sidewalk markings and move back stop bar.

Poor drainage here. Water puddles up across pathway when it rains.

    Shared Use Path

sunken pedestrian path at crosswalk is difficult for long bikes or bikes with trailers to navigate. Would also be nice if jantzen beach builds bike paths to here since there is the entry path for bikes (their paths seem to only go north/south even though bikes enter from the east)

    Interstate, freeway, or expressway

route under I-5 needs to properly support bicycles. Heading west means either riding on sidewalk to an inconvenient wheelchair ramp, or on the road with lots of lane changing/turning traffic entering/exiting the freeway. Heading East requires taking lanes then turning left onto N Denver through a gap in the median - a route which is not clear to vehicles.

we need a bike-ped connection, adjacent to Highway 26, to connect Washington County and Portland.

    Shared Use Path

Biking safely to this portion of the multi-use path from the west side of I-205 is problematic. Both walking and biking from there are slow, unsafe, and unpleasant. There is potentially a large demand for active transportation between the Gateway area and Montavilla Park and vicinity. Currently the demand is limited largely by the poor crossing facilities at Glisan. People who will be living in new low-income housing at 90th and Glisan and other new and proposed residential housing east of I-205 will want to be able to walk and bike easily and safely to places like Montavilla Park and Community Center including the new popular Futsal court. Please put a bike-ped overcrossing in the long-term plans for this area. I have created this 3-D "Sketchup" drawing of how this can be done with one end located about where this marker is placed and the other end at the dead-end of Oregon Street where it meets the freeway berm.

It is also possible to add bike lanes for at least a short distance on Glisan by altering the striping on and near the overcrossing. Please work with PBOT on planning for and designing both short-term and long-term improvements for walking and biking over I-84 here.

    Bicycle Facility Gap

All of Highway 43 needs multi-use paths and street trees. Also, the nearby Willamette Shore Trolley needs a rails-to-trails project.

    Bicycle Facility Gap

Did you know Franklin High School, with 1800 students, is moving to the old Marshall High School campus next year? That means a large influx of students crossing/using Powell and 82nd. The bike facilities on both are not up to par, and the pedestrian facilities will be strained.

For instance, access to the campus from the north across Powell, and access from the west across 82nd.

There will be 1800 Franklin students there for 2 years, then another 2000 or so Grant students after that. So, 4 years of heavy use coming right up.

    Bicycle Facility Gap

ODOT and others allowed a massive building to be built within 20 feet of the western end of the Ross Island Bridge in 2012: how can that possibly allow enough room to build a new, livable bridge in fifty years? Multi-use paths are needed on this bridge.

    Substandard Bicycle Facility

All of 99W / Barbur needs a gigantic overhaul. It needs muilti-use paths, cycle tracks, a pedestrian and bike bridge over I-5 and Barbur from SW 52nd Ave to Markham School, street trees, and stormwater management.

    Substandard Bicycle Facility

All of SW Hall Blvd needs an overhaul. A lot of this deadly road is a north/south road which is rare on the west side of the metro area. This road needs multi-use paths, street trees, mid-block crosswalks, lower speed limits (35 instead of 40), and stormwater management.

    Substandard Bicycle Facility

All of SW Scholls Ferry Road between Highway 26 and SW Beaverton-Hillsdale Highway needs an overhaul. Multi-use paths and cycle tracks are needed with street trees and stormwater upgrades. The northern part of Scholls is a critical north/south connection.

    Bicycle Facility Gap

All of SW Canyon Road and TV Highway need huge upgrades. They need trails by the rail road tracks in certain places and then cycle tracks for the eastern parts of this deadly highway.

    Bicycle Facility Gap

All of SW Beaverton-Hillsdale Highway needs bike lanes. It is sad that Jesuit High School has no bike lanes adjacent to an ODOT highway. Cycle tracks, like SW Multnomah Blvd in Multnomah Village, are needed for Raleigh Hills and the rest of the BH Highway.

    Bicycle Facility Gap

North-south bike travel along and/or parallel to 82nd Avenue needs a lot of improvement - particularly at this crossing of I-84. Currently the only safe way to bike over I-84 here is on the sidewalk which is often jammed with pedestrians waiting for buses. There is an exisiting "80's Bike Greenway" on 87th in this area and a proposed "80th Avenue Bike Greenway". One or the other of these two bike routes will eventually need to have an independent I-84 bike/ped overcrossing. Further driving this need is the increasing popularity of the Futsal court at Montavilla Park and the need for bike access between there and Madison High School. Currently there is a constantly increasing use of the sub-standard sidewalks on 82nd and the outside lanes themselves by cyclists. There must be a better way!

    Bicycle Facility Meets Standard

Both bike lanes (north and south side of Hwy 30) are mostly used for parking by people/businesses who don't know/care that they are 24-hour no-parking zones. I've complained for years to the city and state and nothing has been done. The street needs more enforcement, more signage and more on-street symbols.

The cross walk sign takes for every to switch and it does not last long enough for me to get across the street. On top of that cars drive way to fast.

    Shared Use Path

A poorly designed intersection for those on the 205 path. It is four way for drivers, and there are stop signs for cyclists, but it's unclear who has priority. Lots of truck traffic coming through here so if you guess wrong, it could be deadly. The giant blackberry bushes on the corners block visibility. The sidewalk needs to be wider.

    Substandard Bicycle Facility

Biking across two lanes on to Highway 30 from NW St. Helen's road leaves you on the right of traffic that could be continuing straight ahead on Kittridge Avenue.

    Shared Use Path

Drivers get a continuous ROW, MAX has a continuous ROW, active transportation gets jogs, elevation changes, inconsistent roadway width, occasional tight turns, no access to most of the neighborhoods in the area.
