This area of McQueen park (to the North of the McQueen Park Activity Center) is just gravel with a few plants, but offers a lot more usable space for the park. It would be nice to have additional walking paths installed, and more landscaping. There is a cactus growing here by a bench. Maybe this area could be used as a mini Desert Bontanical Garden, with a path that walks along a lot of cactus and other desert plants? Or, even just a circular path around this area with dense shrubs planted in the middle for more wildlife habitat.

Guadalupe and N Sirrine St needs a pedestrian crossing across Guadalupe. Perhaps a pedestrian activated signal, similar to the canal crossings?

I agree with this request/concern. Kokopelli golf course is directly in a large neighborhood. Trying to cross Guadalupe from either side is dangerous unless you walk to McQueen or further down West.
Having some pedestrian crossing would be ideal.

For the longest time, the Welcome to the Town Of Gilbert Monument Sign was in disrepair. It was missing a letter and some letters were off color. The lettering seems to be fixed now, but the Monument Sign and landscaping around it are not inviting and in a poor state. Certainly does not look inviting and like other more updated and nice Monument Signs and landscaping welcoming people into Gilbert at other locations.

Encinas Street like every other County Island the Town has annexed has had minimal street maintenance performed on it since it transitioned from county-owned to Gilbert-owned. For over twenty years, all that has been done is the application of a few thin coatings of asphalt slurry. The corner of Nevada and Encinas is noticeably sunken down and needs to be built up. The Town of Gilbert drives down this road every day to service its water treatment facility on Nevada Street. It's time for a new paved road like was promised in the last budget override vote.

Please note that I spoke with Pacer at the March 27, 2024 public meeting and he asked that I note a revision of his last sentence to reflect "It's time for a new paved road like was promised in the last BOND override vote."

The Town allowed the Weinburger Waste Transfer Station just south of Guadalupe Road off of Cooper Road. There are so many businesses and landscapers hauling trailers full of junk and green waste non-stop every business day. There is always junk in the road from those who do not cover their trailers. Much of the junk ends up in the open irrigation ditch along Cooper Road and causes issues with the irrigation system and leaves junk in peoples' yards along West Encinas St. when irrigation runs. Cooper Road often looks like Gilbert Road on the reservation on way to the Salt River Dump -junk always alongside the road. The Town needs to have street sweepers and trash cleanup crews come down this road almost everyday. The Town and Police Department should give citations to anyone traveling down Cooper Road with a dysfunctional trailer, a trailer that is not covered, a trailer that does not have its junk tied down, etc. Or have the Police Stationed at the entrance to Weinburger's and give tickets their. Maybe that will change behavior.

Cooper Road between Baseline and Guadalupe Roads is in sore need improvement/repaving. Should finish adding a third lane with so much traffic now, especially now that there will be a huge apartment complex along Cooper Road. Not to mention all the traffic from landscapers and junk hauling trucks that drive up and down Cooper Road non-stop to the Weinburger Waste Transfer Station.

Large work trucks, semi trucks, campers, trailers park in this area for long periods of time. One leaves & another takes it place. Town needs to post no parking signs in area & areas like this that are town owned streets. HOA can not enforce. Vehicle parking creates safety issues, clearance issues for emergency vehicles, waste/recycling trucks and child/pedestrian safety.

This vacant corner lot should not have been allowed to change zoning, as corners are for commercial not several large apartment buildings being built here across from McDonald’s. This will cause a huge surge in traffic at McQueen and Elliott and surrounding areas which will worsen road conditions/quality for all working and living in NW Gilbert. Future Road construction and improvements costs will be at the expense of all us single family property owners. Area needs review now to preplan for this upcoming issue.

I agree, this intersection has had very bad accidents and a lot of congestion already. Adding in the apartments will only increase the issues exponentially.
Like Liked 2 timesU-turns on McQueen (at Elliot) from southbound to northbound have caused several near accidents that I've witnessed. It would be great to prohibit them with signage, but I'm sure McDonald's would suffer. Perhaps U-turns could be accommodated with a combination of signage and traffic light arrangement.

Traffic control lines are confusing. There are a lot of wrong way drivers northbound on Islands Drive West by the school. And during school drop off and pickup time, cars park on the ROW.. Huge mess.
