Crossing Howard Street & Park Avenue or the Howard/Dolphin intersection South of it are terrible. Removing a center lane has theoretically helped, but fundamentally, folks are driving 60 in a 25mph zone and regularly blasting through the red lights, especially at Howard & Park. I live at this intersection and actually witness (either viewing out my window or hearing it) a daily accident.

West-bound 28/Norbeck Rd at Wintergate Dr has a (motor vehicle) travel lane, a bike lane, and a shoulder. The bike lane and the shoulder are separated by a white line and physical barrier of vertical posts. However, the travel lane and bike lane are separated by only a white line, which allows cars to make the dangerous maneuver of using the bike lane to go around cars stopped at the light and make a right turn on red (usually without stopping). This appears to be a defective design and/or installation of the white posts. Why use posts to keep cyclists from moving further to the right and onto the shoulder? Cyclists should be allowed to easily move onto the shoulder if they need to stop, such as if they develop a flat tire or other mechanical issue. Wouldn’t it make more sense to instead have the posts separating the travel lane from the bike lane?
Please move the posts to be between the travel lane and the bike lane to reduce the danger at this intersection.Liked 1 time

I really appreciate that this intersection has a leading pedestrian indicator and pedestrian-specific signal phase to give people a chance to safely cross the street. MDSHA should add automatic pedestrian signals and leading pedestrian indicators at more intersections in the Beltway, especially those within walking and biking distance of Metro, Purple Line, and MARC stations.

We have multiple North-South highways for cars to get from the DC area to the Baltimore area, but no options for bikes! This doesn't need to be along 295, but there are so many people who commute along this corridor etc that it would be WONDERFUL to have a way to bike between!

Get rid of the pink islands, worthless and obstructs cyclists. Makes this area dangerous for cyclists

Not the islands with vegetation, there are pink islands between the bike lane and car lane. I think it would also help to remove the places where the curb juts into the bike lane at road intersections. These force bikes into the car lane.
