We mostly have zero law enforcement and many reckless drivers. We deserve law enforcement

HMB is “Broke”, so they only contract to pay the SMC Sheriffs a minimal amount.

The CHP could be more present to enforce traffic laws on HWY One, but perhaps
The City is resistant (in order to not p-off visitors).
Or, the CHP sees the Coast as low priority. There should be stepped-up law enforcement by the Highway Patrol on Route One. Speeding, not signaling, cutting drivers off, passing on the right with two lanes. Cars pulling on the highway in front of oncoming cars, drivers on cell phone. taligating..

Several commercial businesses with substantial employee (100+)and vendor traffic have to turn left onto Highway 1 from Frenchmans Creek Road. The speeds on Highway 1 at that location and the absence of a light either at Spindrift or Frenchmans Creek Rd make this a nightmare. Weekly accidents or near misses.

On El Granada Blvd, a very windy and steep road this is our only evacuation route, large vehicles consistently park on both sides of the road on sharp curves. Specifically near addresses 321 and 338. But anywhere on these curves, when large trucks park on both sides, it reduces the road to one lane, which is very dangerous if all 130+ homes need to evacuate. It makes it dangerous just for regular driving too since it reduces the ability for two way traffic. Please paint the curbs red on these curves! This whole area is in a very high fire danger zone, and PG&E power lines cross this road over 34 times in less than a mile, yet it is our only way out in an emergency. Please make this road more safe, both by painting curbs red to orevent parking on curves, and by forcing PG&E to do a better job removing trees from power lines. Thank you.

ELG Blvd us not a highway. Good suggestion but probably not relevant to this survey.

The southbound Sierra Point Parkway bike path narrows dangerously as one enters the underpass area - exactly where visibility dims due to the shade/absence of lighting. There is a gravel side path that could be - and should be - finished properly that would greatly increase safety for pedestrians and cyclists.

Any cycling in this intersection is dangerous, but especially the left turns from southbound Airport Blvd. on to eastbound Oyster Point Blvd. I am anxiously alert as a driver when I see cyclists making this turn. Most drivers seem so determined to prevent the cyclists from slowing them down.

Widen 92. This road cannot handle the population of the coastside and the traffic we get from visitors. Accidents regularly close what should be an evacuation route. Forget the NIMBYism this is a matter of public safety.

The HMB City Council is not in favor of widening Hwy 92, but someday it may come to pass, as they kept building hotels and more low income housing, and holding events like Pumpkin Festival, Dream Machines or Maverick’s plus all the visiting beach goers flick over to the Coast. Just wait until the SMC Parks Department completes the Tunitas Creek Beach project and there will be even more “Visitor Attracting” places to draw extra traffic to the Coast south of HMB.

Very unsafe for pedestrians, no crosswalk and no sidewalks or bike paths to access the nearest crosswalk north or south. Cars travel at 50mph. When a car is traveling north and turning onto Spindrift, impatient motorists from behind the turning vehicle will try to pass them by driving into head on traffic. Many people in this neighborhood run across the HWY to try to access the trail/ path on the west side of 1. Please lower the speed limits on HWY 1 and complete the ped/ bike trail from Frenchman's Creek to Main St.

Need a three way stop sign here. Cars speed up Windsor on their way up Torino to Heather Elementary/Crestview/Edgewood and turn right at the Windsor/Winding T intersection without looking left or pausing. Hard to see cars coming around trees, pedestrians walking with no sidewalks, herd of deer living on the corner lot, and narrow one lane street. Even more dangerous at night with no street lights.

Biking along here is super dangerous. Two lanes per direction barely fit cars, and parked cars force unexpected lane changes. Where are you supposed to bike here? This area needs protected bike lanes to make biking safe. It's so bad this is where you walk it or bike on the sidewalk. Just bike it for yourself, you'll fear for your life.

This crossing is a deathtrap on a bicycle. High-speed freeway traffic (entering or exiting) is put in conflict with bicyclists, with poor visibility due to the tight spiral turns. I would never bike this. And walking it wouldn't be much better. I bike all the way to the Ralston crossing if i need to cross, because I don't want to actually die on my way over 101. Also, it's an over crossing, which is strenuous for cyclists and pedestrians, and pretty much impossible to cross for mobility challenged individuals.

The curb extension which is supposed to protect the pedestrian crossing inhibits the flow of southbound el Camino bicyclists who are riding to the far right of the travel lanes (no dedicated bike infrastructure). This curb extension forces bicyclists into high speed, impatient car traffic. Please give bicyclists separated infrastructure so we can safely travel along El Camino - which is the most direct, flattest travel route for bicycling North to South.

Crosswalk is a deathtrap. No signal, not daylighted (parked cars near by), multiple lanes to cross in both directions, no physical vehicle slowdown mechanisms, no safely islands, 30 to 40 mph car speeds. Literally seen people run over here. Seen elderly unable to cross. Please help. Crossing at night would basically ensure you die.
